5 out of 5 starsI purchased 2 mugs at a renaissance festival. I loved them so much that I found the online shop to order two more. They are expensive, but worth it. It also takes 4-6 weeks to get your pottery, but it was worth the wait. Excellent products! Excellent seller! Highly recommend!

5 out of 5 starsJust received my two new soup bowls to match the other two I bought from this shop. They are perfect, really little works of art, love them. They were packaged with care and arrived safe and sound. We have gotten much use out of the first two we ordered, they hold lots of soup or stew or other delights, they wash up well and always look beautiful in my cupboard.

5 out of 5 starsThis bowl is even prettier than the picture. It's so thoughtfully designed that it's easy to carry when full, thanks to thumbrest. It microwaves with no problem, and is easy to clean. I'm very pleased with this purchase and would consider another at some point. Thanks for careful packing and prompt shipping also. Cheers.

5 out of 5 starsMy crock arriveda short while back, and I've put it to use several times for soup, stew, and finally an onion soup gratinee, yesterday. It's the perfect size, perfectly shaped, and exquisitely finished. The color and glaze are stunning.

Our Story
....as told by Rowan Rose
This is the story of a boy, a girl, some dirt and a dream.
When I met Charlie Hughes in 1997, he was selling his pottery at a show where I was also vending. He had studied ceramics at Penn State University and was now peddling his wares on the road, trying to make a living in the clay biz. I was a self-taught stained glass artist, and selling at art shows was a very occasional thing for me. We quickly became good friends (and I became a dedicated customer), and over the years a long and strange romance ensued.
I proposed to Charlie in 2007 in the very same spot we met all those years ago and we married in the summer (and twice in the fall) of 2008. That's our summer wedding picture over there on the right!
I never thought I'd have the aptitude for clay work, but Charlie patiently taught me "the way of the clay" and now I'm a potter too...and we've been happily covered in mud together ever since!
Our Work
Together we create beautiful functional stoneware pottery for your kitchen and table. We both enjoy cooking and entertaining, and appreciate the warmth that handcrafted pieces bring to our meals. We try to bring that sensibility to our work- making pottery with every day use in mind; light and comfortable but also strong and durable.
All of our work is completely handmade- from ball of clay to finished piece. This is the real deal, thrown one piece at a time on our wheels and finished by hand. All of our decorative elements are hand painted, hand-carved or hand molded from our originals. No decals or mass-produced elements are used.
We honestly love what we do, and are truly blessed to be able to make a living doing what we love. Even after all these years we race down to the studio, like kids on Christmas morning, to peek into our cooling kilns. We are, quite frankly, addicted to clay!
And our business isn't just about selling people some mugs; it's about making beautiful things that become a small part of our customer's lives. We love to hear that our customers have to use "our special mug" for coffee each morning, or that our teapot graces the table at every family gathering.
We pride ourselves in offering fantastic customer service and crazy fast shipping (check out our feedback!) We're happy to accommodate your special requests, like adding gift cards or shipping items to several addresses. First time buyers often become loyal return customers because they fall in love with our pottery AND our customer service. It's not unusual to hear that they are back for more because they're tired of fighting the family for their "favorite" mug or bowl!
Thanks for shopping with us and being part of our little circle of pottery love.
