A collector turned dealer

I've been collecting vintage children's books off and on since 2009. Living in New York (Brooklyn), and then Montreal, however, meant high prices and no car to hit the really good places to score finds! When I moved back to North Carolina, I hit the flea market and thrift stores like mad, amassing hundreds of children's books in a few months' time. However, I soon realized that I had way too many than I needed, and decided to slowly unload some of them onto Etsy. I created Hunt and Pick as a result!

I am happy to share my love of vintage books, toys, board games, and ceramics with you. I'm happy knowing that each item is going to a loving home - rather than sitting neglected and gathering dust on my bookshelf or in boxes!

All our items come from a smoke- and pet-free home. The dog you see in the picture is actually my sister's dog and (unfortunately for me!) doesn't live with us. :)

Thank you for stopping by Hunt and Pick! We love children's books, cookbooks, and all sorts of vintage kitschy oddities, as we collect them ourselves. After one too many trips to the flea market, thrift stores, estate sales, and the like, we decided to declutter and sell off some of our finds through Hunt and Pick. We continue to collect for ourselves and pick for you! Please let us know if you'd like us to look for something special for you.

Returns and exchanges
Vintage items, for the most part, have been pre-loved and used extensively over the years by others. While I try my best to inspect each item for flaws and to include these flaws in my listing descriptions, it is always possible to overlook some minor flaw. If you would like to see more photos of an item before purchasing, please contact me and I would be happy to send them to you.

Returns are accepted if the item has flaws that I have overlooked. You are responsible for the return shipping.

A full refund will be issued if items are damaged (to the point of no use) in shipping.
Payment
Payment is accepted via Paypal and credit card through Direct Checkout. Reserved items will be held for 5 days; if not bought and paid for within 5 days, we will release the item back to the public.
Shipping
We ship within 1-3 days of your purchase. We have frequently underestimated shipping charges, which is why our estimated shipping may seem a little steep. Please note, though, that any excess in postage over $2.00 will be refunded. Please let me know if any special instructions to the courier are needed.

Books and magazines will be shipped the most cost-effective way (saving you more money) - in some cases Media Mail, in other cases, First Class.
