Being creative allows me to express myself in a way that feels genuine. I have always explored how the arts can affect and enhance a person's life, whether it is through sewing, painting, sculpting, song, dance, writing, etc. These days you will find me in NYC soaking up the endless stimulation and infusing that into hand crafted bridal accessories.

I started my bridal line with the goal to create detailed pieces that are elegant and have a bit of a vintage vibe while still fitting into the modern day brides vision. I value the hand made process immensely. Every piece is hand made here in NY. I grew up in a family that valued the artisan, and I am a big believer in encouraging the world to find their way back to supporting the artisans of this world and the craft that is involved in creating beautiful pieces of wearable art.

I have a studio in Brooklyn!! If you would like to come in and meet with me, or see the whole collection in person, please email me: greetings [!at] hushedcommotion.com

As soon as I saw this headpiece I had to have it! I loved how unique it was with the white chain. It is very well made and high quality! I am so happy with the purchase and loved wearing in during my reception. It never once felt like it was falling and was lightweight on my head. I also happen to do hair for weddings and will most definitely be recommending my clients to this shop! So often you run into high priced hair decor that is cheaply made. So happy I found them!

I LOVE these little earrings! They are adorable, and though I am wearing them from my wedding, they will definitely be a piece I can wear after as well. Seller was great to work with and very quick to respond. Very happy with my purchase and would recommend or order again!!

I LOVE this belt! Seller was great to work with and very quick to respond, even gave me recommendations to match with other items in her shop! Very happy with my purchase and would recommend or order again!! I did have the belt changed to a snap back instead of a tie, and though I gave my measurements it was about 4" too long. It's something I can easily adjust and just move the snap. The belt itself is truly a work of art and I'm very excited to be able to wear such an intricate and loved piece on my wedding day! Thank you sooo much!!!

The earrings look ok from a distance but up close look cheaply made. They have glue marks, one of the earrings isn’t centered, and there is a weird felt just glued on the back! You have to be careful not to break them when taking the backs on and off. I have had jewelry made and I don’t feel they are worth $100. Im ver disappointed.

About

My journey

Being creative allows me to express myself in a way that feels genuine. I have always explored how the arts can affect and enhance a person’s life, whether it is through sewing, painting, sculpting, song, dance, writing, etc.

When I graduated Pratt in fashion design, I immediately delved into the Women's Wear industry, and I loved it - but evening wear and bridal was always a special interest of mine. I was working with the company Saja and around 2009 they embarked on a bridal line...which I got to experience and learn from first hand. Over the next 4 years I grew with them and learned tremendously from them about brides, the blogs, the industry and how to be a bridal designer who "marches to your own drum". Around 2012 I started my Hushed Commotion line on the side and was selling my accessories at their flagship NY store. I valued the time and my work with them tremendously, but in 2013 it became apparent that it was time for me to delve into Hushed Commotion full time, so I took the plunge! It has been a lot of hard work, but tremendously rewarding.

Now a days you will find me working from my home studio, or from the Brooklyn studio space I share with the amazingly talented Rebecca Schoneveld (gorgeous wedding dresses!). Sharing space with Rebecca has been a wonderful next chapter, I have really enjoyed and grown from bouncing ideas off of her and exploring vintage inspiration together!
