Frequently asked questions
Care instructions
When using watercolor in palettes please allow wet half pans to dry after use.
All paints are subject to eventual spoilage once opened and exposed to air and other contaminants. Most spoilage is a result of cross-contamination from common sources such as air, water, people, brushes and other utensils. Proper storage and usage will reduce potential sources of contamination and extend the life of your paint.
Paint products can become contaminated with bacteria or mold, which can lead to a strong.
Why are the half pans different prices?
Prices are determined by the pigment in the pan. Each pigment purchased to make each watercolor vary in prices.
Magnets
Over time magnets will come off the bottom of the half pan, especially when taking them out and and putting them into the tin too many times. If that happens please message me and I can give you the name of the adhesive that is used to secure the magnets on.
Activating your Watercolor
I recommend dropping several drops of water onto the Pillow topped Half Pan, then wait for a couple of minutes until the pigments are being dissolved. Then mix well with a brush until the color reaches a thick creamy consistency. You can add more or less water to your half pan to get the desired consistency that YOU like. More water will make the color more transparent and less water will make the color opaque when applying to your paper.
The color then can be used directly with a brush or applied to both sides of the your nib for calligraphy.

Air Pockets and Bubbles
A little information on air pockets and bubbles
When manufacturing handmade watercolors on a glass slab moving pigment and binder around will infuse air into the batch of paint and it is quite common and unavoidable to totally get rid of these bubbles.
These bubbles so not effect the quality of these watercolor what so ever.
And because we pillow top our half pans your getting extra paint in your half pan which will compensate if you happen to receive a watercolor with some bubbles or air pockets inside. if you receive a larger then usual bubble or cavity please contact me, leaving a review on the air pocket or bubble isnt the best way of contact. I strive to make each and every one of my customers happy.

Why is my international package being returned?
International orders may end up being returned for various reasons including: non-payment of tariffs, incorrect address, unclaimed at post office, etc. If a package is returned or rejected, the customer will be contacted and will have to pay for reshipment postage (USD). If a refund is requested please note that the original shipping fees are non-refundable.
Free Shipping
Free Shipping Update, Hydracolour does offer free shipping over a certain amount purchased with our shop. this will only include Watercolor Paints or Sets. For Domestic And International Purchases I will only cover free shipping up to $15 usd
Any overages will be paid by Buyer.
Because We have heavy items like Large Tins and XL Tins In our Shop These require a larger box and more shipping cost.
For Large qtys of these items I may have to ship Separately. Buyer is Responsible for paying the remainder of the shipping. I will Calculate total shipping and remainder will be sent via "Custom Order" Through Etsy messages. Please respond before shipping departure time frame or order will be subject to cancellation.
