Announcement    I've always been told I have a bohemian soul with a dark side. A free spirited girl who always had a fascination with animal skulls and bones. After dabbling in some of my own bone articulation projects and bone jewelry, I decided to open my own Etsy store.

My jewelry mixes macabre and beauty together, which creates a unique piece that fits all styles. I also create real skull planters that are not only eco friendly, but also helps to preserve the memory of the animals spirit to live on forever. I'm a true believer in recycling, and all of my bones come from roadkill that I find myself and local taxidermists who have no need for all of the bones. Everything I sell is always ethically sourced and I never harm any creatures ever. I take what would be thrown away and discarded and create one of a kind art pieces. I always say, we are all made of bones, so why not show them off.

I'm so proud to say that I'm now a member of Equality Means Business Virginia chapter member. This organization helps to connect people and show that the businesses they work with do not discriminate against anyone's race, gender, sexuality or lifestyle. I love everyone equally and I want everyone who visits my store to feel welcome and safe. I am a judge-free Etsy store owner ✌

About Hyeness

Sales 204
On Etsy since 2015

Hyeness Jewelry & Oddities - it all started with the idea of hyenas and jewelry.

A true bohemian at heart, I decided to open this store because I have a great appreciation for anything in the oddity field and jewelry. I also know many people enjoy both of those too. Bones to me are a fine art and I truly enjoy making my jewelry with various animal pieces such as teeth, skulls, and claws. Since I make all this magic happen by myself, I truly put all my love and passion into every piece I create.

I get many questions of how I obtain the bones that I have. First and foremost, I do not harm any animals. Many of my bones come from roadkill (yes roadkill), think of it as recycling. I get some of the animals I use from my friends who also collect bones and friends who are licensed taxidermists. I take the animal bones that typically are discarded, and I make them into these unusual and beautiful jewelry and planters. Again, I do not harm any animals... EVER.

I really hope you enjoy my store and if you have any ideas, please do not hesitate to message me or if you are looking for some particular. I specialize in insane asylum items such as documents, history, and medical devices dealing with psychiatric treatments. I will be adding new pieces as often as I find new products.

Thanks for stopping to look at my store and as I always say, we are all made of bones, so why not show them off.

I'm an avid insane asylum documents & animal skulls collector. I've always had a deep appreciation for the unusual. Recently, I acquired a hobby of collecting taxidermy & I'm currently learning the fine art from an amazing female taxidermist ✌.

    Customer Service

My name is O'malla, or Ommie for short. I work along side my mommy who makes these beautiful pieces. I help her find animal bones when we walk in the woods together on our property. My favorite thing besides helping mommy... belly rubs 🐾!

Frequently asked questions
Where do I acquire my bones and skulls?

I find most of my skulls and bones along the road or in the woods. I also have several friends all around the United States that are taxidermist and give me the bones they do not have any use to. I NEVER harm any animals for any reason. In full honesty, I do not hunt. I'm not against hunting, I just don't do it.

Again, I do not harm any animals ever.

Custom and personalized orders

Yes, I can do custom pieces if you have some bones or skulls. We both can design a piece that suits you to perfection. As long as the pieces are ethically sourced, I will offer that service to anyone.
