Idol Hands—Not So Idle!
After many years of being a teacher, tied to the school year's schedule, I finally retired and now have more time to devote to what I love to do most, create. I wasn't sure which direction I wanted to go because I love many creative arts. Then I took some classes in metal arts and it rekindled my passion for making jewelry. That was it! I started to make jewelry using copper, brass, and silver metals, and found I loved spending time honing the various techniques used in metal smithing.
I entered my jewelry in several art fairs and was pleased with the response I received from my customers. Along with the art shows, I decided to build a business through Etsy. It rapidly became apparent to me it entailed more work than I ever imagined. Not only did I have to become a photographer, I had to learn more about the computer, postage, packaging and shipping, and write copy for each piece of jewelry.
It’s because of the support from family and friends I continue to improve my techniques, jewelry and shop. It has been five years since I joined the Etsy community, and you should take a chance on me because I will stand behind every project I create. I hope you enjoy the site and like my jewelry!
