We ❤️ it!! Thank you! The rose-gold collar was breathtaking and the slider ID tag is really high quality. Ike & Stella is definitely my go to store for cat collars now. Customer service is also stellar. For reference, the collar is 3/8" wide with hole spacing 7-9". My cat is ~6.5 lbs. Highly, highly recommend!!

About

handcrafted pet goods

In February of 2012 my dog Ike and I decided to go into business together. At the time, he was about 4 weeks old, fresh off a flight from the Bahamas, where he was born a "potcake" - a term they use in the Caribbean for the feral dogs that roam the streets. The term comes from their mythical method of survival - the crusted "cake" leftover in pots that Bahamians would leave out after they finished cooking their staple dish, peas and rice. While it may have been true at some point, today potcakes are more likely to survive off of whatever they find in the garbage, or if they're lucky enough to live by an empty beach, fish and crabs that they catch themselves.

I met my first potcake puppies in December of 2011 when a litter showed up near where my dad lives in Nicholstown, Andros in the Bahamas. Like any dog living on the streets, the survival rate of a litter is low, and those who do survive live very short and difficult lives. The US and Canada make it very easy to transport these pups into the country, where there are plenty of families happy to adopt them. Christmas 2012 brought the second litter of puppies, and from them I brought home Ike and Stella. Stella found herself a happy family in Denver, whereas Ike became a part of my family, and that's when I asked myself what came to be a very important question - how do you make a dog collar?

Every product you find here I designed and made with my own two hands. For every collar sold, $1 goes to the spay/neuter and homing of potcakes in the Bahamas. The problem of stray and homeless animals is vast and complicated but with our business, Ike and I hope to make a dent in helping his incredibly smart and gracious breed live a happier and healthier life.

For International orders - duty is the buyers responsibility! Please EXPECT TO PAY DUTY when the item arrives in your country, rates vary from country to country.
Refunds and Exchanges
IMPORTANT if you've purchased a FELT cat collar: on the one hand the collars are made from the highest quality felt available, so they should by no means just fall apart. On the other hand - the collars are made from felt, so they aren't going to survive if your cat scratches/chews at them repeatedly. If your kitty does either, I suggest purchasing a nylon or leather collar. If you have a new kitten and aren't sure, try getting them used to a cheap, nylon collar first so they can get used to wearing one. I cannot be held responsible/issue refunds for your cat destroying the collar. Having said that, I totally get that this is probably your cat's first felt collar, so I do offer a discount on a replacement collar - whether you want to try the felt again or one of my other styles, I will put the total price of the felt collar you purchased towards another collar, so you'll only have to pay the difference. Please message me for more info!

RETURNS/EXCHANGES accepted up to 30 days (60 days international) from the date your item ships for standard items ONLY. If you have ordered anything CUSTOM - I do not accept returns/exchanges on those items unfortunately.

For ID TAGS - The text is copy and pasted directly from what you type in the notes section, so anything you put there will be copied onto the ID tag. PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK YOUR ID TAG INFORMATION!

If your item is lost in the mail and 12 business days (domestic) or 40 business days (international) have elapsed since the ship date - just get in touch and I will happily send a replacement.

Please double check the shipping address on your order - if your item is returned you will be responsible for the cost of re-shipping.
Additional policies and FAQs
SIZING: To ensure you get the right size the first time - please measure the length AROUND your dog's neck. The length range given for the collars is the length when they are when put together, not the length of the entire collar.
