I got inspired by my own guinea pig to make these little Guinea pig planters, which are great for small plants!
Every piece starts as a ball of clay, here are some future sky tumblers waiting their turn to be thrown on the wheel.

About

Hello! My name is Ilke. With a graduate degree in Materials Science and Engineering, I started taking pottery classes in 2014, and ever since, I haven't been able to stop working with clay.

Currently, I do pottery as my full time job, and I spend most of my days in the studio, creating new pots. I also volunteer as a lab tech at CCSF to learn how to fire, make slips, glazes, clay etc...Given the limited space we have in our house in San Francisco, I am dividing my time between multiple different studios in the city, but I am hoping to have my own studio one day. I am inspired by making functional pottery pieces that can be used by others (meaning you :)) in their daily lives. I enjoy exploring different techniques to make new pieces, and one of my personal favorites has been marbling different colors of clay. I enjoy creating both minimalistic/modern style pots, as well as colorful and cheerful ones.

Thank you for visiting my shop, please feel free to contact me with any questions you have.
