Announcement   To learn more about my artwork, please check out my blog at www.illuminatingwords.blogspot.com. Thank you for stopping by my shop.

I concentrate my art and design work in the areas of mixed-media collage, encaustic and calligraphy. Encaustic is an ancient technique using a layering of beeswax with damar resin and oil paint or pigments fused together with a blowtorch or heat gun. I particularly love the luminous qualities that the encaustic medium brings to the surface as various elements, ephemera and my own lettering are layered and fused together.

My appreciation for letters, words and meaningful quotes influences all of my work, and it is my hope that my art will bring more light into your heart and life. Ephesians 1:17 -- "I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened."

I ordered this piece for my girlfriend as a house warming gift and am so pleased! It looks even better in person and the layered nature of the art really stands out. The piece is a beautiful composition of clean forms, opaque gradients, and antique artifacts. The texture of the work is outstanding, and the work overall is of a highly polished quality. I will recommend Illuminating Words to anyone.

Such a beautiful piece and Helen was wonderful. She emailed to make sure the item arrived in good condition because of the cold weather and its possible affect on the delicate medium. I am thrilled!
