About

About the Artist

Alyssa Robinson is a 24-year-old freelance artist based in Tucson, Arizona. For as long as she can remember, art was always her passion. While college should have been the opportunity to officially pursue that passion, her rejection from the fine arts major forced her to forge a new academic path.

She graduated from the University of Arizona in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Anthropology, planning to pursue a graduate degree and work in public health. But during the year she took off from school she realized her heart still lied with creating. During the spring of 2016 she discovered lettering while exploring Instagram, and thus began her new artistic journey.

In August 2016 she made an account specifically for her lettering posts. Daily practice and integration into the Instagram community pushed her to be supportive of fellow artists and to believe in her own abilities more than she ever had before. Lettering soon inspired her to teach herself how to paint with watercolor - specifically for flowers, cacti, and galaxies.

In the past two years her following has grown to over 54k, she has collaborated with numerous companies including Happy Socks, Skillshare, and Versachalk, and with artists like Peggy Dean and Lauren Hom. And in the summer of 2018 she will be making her workshop debut.

Currently Alyssa balances her freelance work with a day job as a receptionist. Her dream is to one day be a full time artist, and every purchase from this shop gets her one step closer.
