My latest yarn haul, this time from Copenhagen. So excited to make some new things with these gorgeous yarns!
Knitted accessories inspired by Japanese aesthetics using Scandinavian techniques.
I am a recovering academic who loves making things. Imoriknits is my way of celebrating my two heritages: Japan and Scandinavia. I grew up in Japan with a Scandinavian American artist dad and a Japanese mom, and spent my childhood visiting temples, rural villages, historic towns, even hippie festivals. I was also very proud to be part Scandinavian, even though I’m generations away from Sweden itself.
I am excited to share these creations that bring together the imagery, colors, and motifs of one heritage using the lovely techniques of the other with you. Each item is made by hand using beautiful yarns from socially responsible companies. I hope you enjoy them and they help keep you--and your doggie companion--warm!
