I had these made for a concert I am going to at FaerieCon East in November and they are exactly what I wanted! Imp and Petal made these so perfectly and they are extremely well made! If you get the chance, please order yourself a set of dreadlocks from her!

If you aren't sure if this is the right dread maker for you already, then let me tell you, you have found one of the greats. In a market too often saturated with people who do this for a quick buck, it is not only amazing to find a creator that does it for the love of her craft, but also does amazing and inspiring work too! If you don't already own a set, just do it, I promise you won't regret it!! Love <3 <3 !

About

Dream it, Be it.

In 2001, while perusing the interwebs for options on hair extensions to rectify a "very bad haircut" situation, I discovered the existence of synthetic dreadlocks. Temporary dreadlocks, you say? A protective hairstyle without any commitment, damage, or parental heartbreak? Not to mention, color without damage?! Mind = Blown.

The idea was intoxicating. I spent the next few months trying to find a local salon that would help me install some of these magnificent hairpieces, and finally ended up in a dimly lit underground salon in Portland Oregon with a recruited comrade, both of us brimming with excitement at the prospect of this new wonderland of hair styling options. As we entered our stylist's station area, an entire wall full of hooks bore rainbows of dangling synthetic hair... and over the next 12 hours as she worked to transform us, I knew I'd found my passion.

After wearing those extensions lovingly for the next 3 months, I knew I was changed in a way that I would never recover from. I'd caught The Bug. I fell in love with and wanted to learn how to manipulate this fiber, and furthermore, I knew I had to learn as much as I could about the world of hair. I knew I wanted to become a stylist!

It's taken years of trial and error, experimentation and sheer experience to get to where I am now. While attending Cosmetology school (which I jumped in to a few years after that pivotal day in Portland) I was free to wear dread extensions as I pleased with no restricting employer dictating my style. I began gaining attention from strangers, asking where they could attain a similar look. I then started creating dreads for others, and it was absolutely addicting. I fell so madly in love with my job and with extensions in general that in 2007 I started what would two years later become Imp and Petal.

My husband dabbles in jewelry, ceramics and other metal work. I focus on hair and accessories for it. I'll admit, it's mostly my show, but I'm happy to share the credit, because without him I wouldn't be able to keep this business running like the (usually) well oiled machine it is today!

CUSTOM EXTENSION ORDERS:

A non-refundable $75 deposit is required at the time of purchase, to secure your place in line on our waiting list and cover material costs in the event that you do not follow through on the final purchase of your extensions. If your order totals less than $75, we do ask for the entirety upfront.

Upon completion of your extensions (which depending on our current wait time can some times exceed several months, please make sure you've checked the current turnaround!) we will contact you with detailed photos of the finished product. At this time, you are expected to either complete payment or inform us that you are no longer able/willing to purchase the kit within 7 days. As we occasionally run ahead of schedule, we are definitely flexible provided you communicate the need for an extension on this expectancy.

After this period has passed, if you have not followed through on payment we will issue ONE reminder via email. If we don't hear from you, your order will be canceled and your kit will be put up for resale.

PAYMENT PLANS: If you need more time or would like to span payments out past the typical two outlined above, please contact us to write up an official contract agreement. Please note: when making multiple payments, each additional payment will become non-refundable as it is cleared. Since this is such a small operation, it's just too much to try and keep track of more than two payments per order. We apologize for any inconvenience!

TURNAROUND TIMES: Can usually be found posted in our Etsy storefront. Occasionally orders are placed so rapidly that it can be hard to keep up on in real time. Please feel free to contact us for an estimate on when you may be able to expect your extensions. If you want to go ahead and purchase a deposit listing, we will certainly honor you with a refund should you decide the turnaround does not fit your schedule.
Shipping
DOMESTIC ORDERS are shipped by USPS Priority mail, with delivery confirmation.
INTERNATIONAL ORDERS are shipped by USPS First Class mail. Buyer is responsible for any potential customs fees.

Please contact us before purchasing your listing to arrange for alternate shipping methods.

Items will be shipped to the address provided on ETSY by default. Please be sure it is current or that you pro-actively mention a preferred address.

Please note we are not responsible for losses or damages that may occur during shipping. Every package within the US is sent out with Delivery Confirmation and Insurance up to $50. Additional/International Insurance or signed delivery may be purchased by request.
Refunds and Exchanges
..::ALL SALES ARE FINAL::..
Please make sure you fully understand what you are ordering, as Imp and Petal will not issue refunds or exchanges. Any and all questions are gladly welcomed beforehand, so kindly make use of the convo feature!
In compliance with state and federal laws Imp And Petal does not accept ANY returns on hair extensions. Extra photos of any item are gladly taken to ensure your complete satisfaction before shipment. We apologize for any inconvenience, but this is a very serious health concern and we do not wish to take any chances.

* if an item arrives in unsatisfactory condition (ie, a thread has come loose, a dread piece is the wrong length or severely unraveling, or a clasp is missing) please contact Imp and Petal within 7 days of delivery (14 days for EU residents) to determine what can be done. We will not honor any exchanges or refunds on products damaged due to customer negligence. If you are unsure how to properly wear or care for an item, please feel absolutely free to contact us!

ARTISTIC FREEDOM DISCLAIMER:
I've been at this a while. Long enough to know that the best finished pieces and most extraordinary kits are those that fuel my passion, spark my creativity, and whisk me away to a world of swirling colors and textures. I prefer things not to be completely uniform. Cohesive, yes, but there will be a margin of difference between lengths and widths. Almost every single kit I put out has one single dread that's longer than all the rest. I stopped obsessing over it, and eventually started getting feedback that these ended up being the wearer's favorite, or "lucky" dreads. I LOVE artistic freedom, and if you're willing to take a leap of faith I often give small discounts on kits that allow for my own interpretation or strike a particular chord with me. If you're looking for perfectly uniform, streamlined "perfection", I'm probably not your girl. There are a handful of amazing dread artists that specialize in such things and I would be happy to send you their way.
If, however, you prefer to walk on the wild side and would like something truly unique and infused with a deep love and passion for the craft, then I would be honored if you would give me the opportunity to make you something special!
