An unbiased audience.

I started this shop to broaden the audience of my artwork. My family and friends are amazing, but I still wanted a bigger and unfamiliar group to show my work to.

My work is about things like vulnerability, uncertainty, and imperfection. It tells of the light in our darkest moments. Some call it hope and some rebirth. Whatever you call it, I want to tell the story of that light. Though it may sometimes be elusive, it is also very real.

More than anything, I want people to connect to my work, and find their story in it. Though these pieces are pieces of me, I realized that they could be pieces of other people too.

"Sometimes the brightest light comes from the darkest places."

Welcome to implode art! Thank you for coming by my shop and showing interest in my work!
If you are interested to ordering a custom piece, this is how that process goes:

1. Message me here or e-mail me at amduterte7 [!at] about your interest in a custom piece. Go ahead and attach a photo(s) of what you would like me to use as my guide. We'll discuss what size you'd like to use, as well as what kind of matting and framing.
*Note: Framing is not optional. There is no other way to safely transport oil pastel pieces without a frame and glass protecting it. I usually use a neutral 2" matte with a plain black studio frame and UV protective glass. If you have a specific matte color or frame style you'd like to use, we will discuss that as well.*

2. Once we've finished discussing all aspects of the project, including cost, I will create a custom listing for you to make a 50% down payment for the piece. When I've received the down payment, I will begin the piece.

3. Depending on my schedule and the size and complexity of the piece, it will take me anywhere from two days to one week to complete the piece. When I've completed the piece, I will e-mail you a photo of the completed piece for your approval, as well as photos with the chosen matte and frame.

4. After I have received your go-ahead, I will create another custom listing for you to pay for your remaining balance. It will take a few days for the the piece to be framed, but it will then be safely packaged and immediately shipped.

If you are interested in an original piece, all pieces are already framed, as pictured (neutral matte with plain black studio frame.) If you'd like a different matte or frame, please message or e-mail me to discuss the framing changes you'd like to make. Depending on certain framing choices, the price may increase, which I will inform you of before beginning re-framing. When we've reached a framing decision, as well as, the new price (if applicable), full payment will be required before beginning shipment or re-framing. Once order or re-framing is completed, the piece will be safely packaged and immediately shipped.

Additional policies and FAQs

I generally work in the following sizes, but if you wish to use a different size, please let me know, and I will do my best to accommodate your wishes.
Small: 12" x 16" (Framed: 18" x 22")
Medium: 16" x 20" (Framed: 22" x 26")
Large: 18" x 24" (Framed: 24" x 30")

Supply me with any deadlines for your piece. It generally does not take me more than a week to complete a piece, framing will take a few days and shipping will take a few days as well (if shipped in the US.) Therefore, it should not take more than two and a half weeks to receive a piece upon order.

Keep in mind, if I have several projects I'm working on or have an unusually busy schedule, it may take more time to complete the piece. However, I will be sure to let you know if your piece will require more time for completion upon order.

I would prefer to work with photos you have taken personally or photos taken by friends or family to avoid any copyright issues. However, if there is a photo that you would like me to use as reference that you have found online or offline, know that I will not copy that photo completely. I will take my creative liberties with the photo in order to avoid copyright issues, but I will be sure to discuss those changes with you when we're discussing the production of your piece.
