These Hands Create
I was drawn in to knitting by my very cool, older cousin. I have this small memory of a family holiday, maybe a Christmas, where I was watching her knit and thinking I wanted to be able to do that someday. A couple of decades later, for my 25th birthday, I decided my gift would be to teach myself to knit.
I love knitting. Learning new techniques, trying out all sorts of patterns and beautiful yarns (Oh, the yarns!!), and finishing up with a useful, lovely item.
Because of what draws me to and keeps me interested and happy with knitting, I make a variety of items. I usually start off by picking up a yarn that catches my eye and then finding what to make from it. Although, sometimes it starts with a lovely pattern that I want to try out, or a visual inspiration.
I don't have a certain yarn brand/line/color scheme (although I am personally drawn to cool colors, as opposed to warm ones, and that's something I'm trying to expand) that I knit everything from and, so far, there are only a couple patterns that I enjoy replicating, making almost everything in my shop One-of-a-Kind.
This is a hobby for me, but one I'm almost always spending time on.
My shop is boutique style, where you can find a range of items from simple knit hats to intricate lace shawls.
*All items listed are already made, and I am currently not taking made to order requests.
*My home is smoke free. We used to be pet free, and most of my items were made (and stored) prior to our new pet bunny.
*Pictures are taken on my phone, in natural light coming through the windows, or outside. They are then edited for clarity and color. I try to get the image on my phone to look as much like the actual item as I can, but with each device showing differently there will be some difference from screen to reality. Some blue items especially have difficulty showing correctly.
*Items are stored in a zip-top bag with a cedar ball prior to shipping, so there may be a slight cedar scent to your item.
