About

Pottery, Functional Sculpture & Equine Art Inspired by the "Free Spirit" in us all...

First of all, I would like to thank everyone for all of the support and understanding I received as I dealt with a little hiccup called breast cancer. Ugh! What a crappy 2 years....BUT...I am happy to announce that I have successfully completed all surgeries and treatments, and am back in the saddle (and the studio, of course) and I have reopened my shop!

Thank you again for your support!

Now here’s the real story... the inspiration that continues to drive me forward...;)

With a lifelong passion for nature, animals, and the Arts, I wish to bring inspiration and creativity to life through my work.

Based on my years of working as a counselor in equine assisted learning programs, I have been inspired to create art that celebrates the connection between humans and animals.

Working with veterans, at-risk-youth and autistic individuals, particularly at the Eye of a Horse Equine Learning Center at Forever Florida, I have seen firsthand how profoundly life-changing the human-animal connection can be. The resilience and amazing strength of these kids and the gentle patience of the horses we work with together, have inspired me in my art as well as with my own personal health challenges. The human spirit, untamed and free, matched with the spirit of these majestic creatures continues to blow me away.

Through my artwork, I hope to bring people closer to finding that healing connection; for when we do, we can change the reality of the world around and within us.

A portion of my proceeds are donated to the Eye of a Horse program that I love so much!

Additional policies and FAQs
"Made to order" items have a longer turn around due to many factors involved in the process. Clay is an interesting and amazing medium that takes a bit of patience...

Here's why:

~ Although I will start hand-making your order within a day or two, the creation process takes a bit of time due to the nature of clay and ceramics. Depending on the size and intricacies of your item, some pieces take longer to complete than others.

~ Once the piece are hand built, hand carved and sculpted, the clay needs to dry slowly (to avoid cracking) for a couple of days. This is important because if the clay has any moisture in it, it can explode in the kiln damaging the kiln walls and any other pottery around it. :(

~ Once all the clay is dried, the entire kiln is painstakingly loaded with work and it is bisque fired to Cone 06 which is 1830 degrees F/ 999 degrees C.(It takes several hours to reach those temperatures and then cool down again.)

~ Once the kiln cools, (another 24 hrs later) the entire kiln is emptied and then carefully each piece is sanded and lovingly hand-painted using non-toxic, lead free glazes.

~ Once glazed, the kiln is again loaded and fired a second time, but now to Cone 6 which is 2232* F / 1222*C. Holy Hot! ;)

~ Once the kiln cools, it is emptied and your angels will be carefully packaged and shipped priority mail to you or the recipient of your choice! YAY!!!

Wow! What a process! Well, the earth wasn't created in a day either, after all... hehehe.

Thank you for your patience and understanding... :)

So, the best thing to do is...Place your orders NOW so they can get there soon!!!

~ Christine
