About

All products are made by me from idea to shipping.

I am trained as a textile designer, and have gained experience over 19 years working in textile studios in London and New York. I am a pattern and fabric lover of all kinds.
Since 2011 I have been a full time mum to my 6 year old son and 4 year old daughter. Which as you can imagine is a handful at the best of times! So working on some shibori stitching, folding and clamping and indigo dying is my little desert island.
I began using the Japanese resist dying technique as a way of unwinding. There is something soothing and methodical in the folding, stitching, clamping and dying of cloth used in these techniques.
Even preparing the Indigo dye has to be done slowly and thoughtfully. I do think there is something special in continuing this ancient Japanese art of shibori.
The process of dying Indigo, 'The King of Colours', is an incredibly rich and cultural tradition. The whole routine of fabric preparation, planning, hand stitching and then dying is more than a combination of techniques, it is an art.

My aim is to bring you unique Shibori designs dyed in natural indigo and other colours in a contemporary modern design that can be used everyday.
The textiles that I have designed are made to be as versatile as wearing denim.
I also want you to have a unique design. Each piece of fabric comes out of the dye vat differently. No two items will ever be the same.
