Nature Inspired Porcelain Ceramics for Everyday Use

Santa Fe, New Mexico | 323 Sales

Announcement    Hello! I am currently getting settled in to my new residence and ceramic studio in rural Santa Fe. Making has been on pause for a month or so. I hope to add more finished items to the shop in the next month and have much more new work out in November. Thanks for looking! Esther

Hello ~ Welcome to InFlux Ceramics! I create one of a kind handmade ceramic pieces that I hope will bring you joy and become a part of your daily life!

SHIPPING UPDATE 8/18/2020: Shipments may take longer than usual due to Covid-19 and delays with the USPS. I will ship orders out according to my shipping policies/times, but once they are dropped off, it is up to the carrier and delivery could take longer than expected. In the past I have always used USPS, but during these times I may choose to ship FedEx if it makes sense given the weight and location. Thank you for your patience with this matter!

If you are local and your order does not qualify for free shipping, use code "LOCAL" at checkout and include a message to me to arrange a pick-up.

Each piece you see is made individually by hand by me, from start to finish, out of my studio space in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

I work with a smooth, mid-range porcelain clay, fired in an electric kiln to roughly 2232 degrees. I work on the potter's wheel as well as build by hand with both pinch and slab methods. I use a variety of surface decoration and finishing techniques and make my own glazes from scratch from recipes I have developed. My work is very durable and meant to be used often and enjoyed!

If you have any questions about my process or anything else, don't hesitate to contact me either through Etsy messages or via email: estherann31 (at) gmail.com.

Please take a minute to review my shop policies before purchasing-simply scroll to the bottom of this page.

SHIPPING UPDATE 8/5/2020 during COVID-19:
I will ship your order according to the shipping estimate from Etsy, usually 1-3 days from order. I have no way to control that it will arrive as expected-USPS could have delays during this time so patience is required!

Thank you for your understanding!

ADDRESS:
USPS may standardize the address you enter to ensure it will arrive. If it seems VERY different from the address you've entered I will contact you to make sure, yet usually I WILL use their recommendations.

PACKING MATERIALS:
I pack each item in bubble wrap as well as paper, surrounded by peanuts in a sturdy box. In some cases I will double box the items. I take great care in packaging my pieces to make sure they arrive safely. If something arrives damaged, please photograph the item and contact me directly to discuss options. I often reuse packing materials and boxes when clean and available.

TIME:
For MOST items, I use USPS 2-4 day Priority Mail. Tracking and insurance up to $50.00 is included. For lightweight items, such as earrings, small jewelry dishes, or gratitude stones, I use USPS First Class Package Service, which takes 2-6 days. You have the option to upgrade to USPS Priority 2-4 Day at the checkout. Please note if these items are purchased with a different type of item that states Priority Mail, no upgrade is needed to ship Priority.

Please make sure you are shipping to a secure location-I am not responsible for stolen packages.

I currently am only shipping within the United States. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Local Customers:
Use the code "LOCAL" at checkout to waive the shipping fee and contact me to arrange a pick up in Santa Fe.

NOTE ABOUT ONLINE PHOTOGRAPHS

I try my best to photograph my work to represent it as accurately as possible. In an ideal world, every camera, screen, phone, and browser would display color in the same way. Unfortunately, that’s not how it works in practice. Please understand that color is different on each device and within browsers. Also, viewing on object on a computer is much different than viewing the object in real life, whether in natural or artificial light. There are many variables that determine how we perceive color.

Measurements and Color/Glazes

Each piece is one of a kind and made by hand. Measurements can vary and sizes are approximate. For made-to-order items, size may vary up to a half inch.
Glazes vary from one firing to the next, and many factors influence their appearance. I have many different glazes in my palette, and often brush layers of one over another. This results in subtle hue changes from one to the next. Each piece is unique and beautiful, and never exactly repeatable.

Care instructions

My work is meant to be used and is very durable. I use my work daily in my kitchen and it certainly holds up over many years!

~Cups and mugs can be used for hot or cold beverages, yet please do not expose to extreme temperature changes.
~Vases are all functional and water tight.
~All glazes used on functional ware are food safe and non toxic.
Crystalline glazes (generally used on ring dishes) are not recommended for food.
~Handwashing recommended but it is dishwasher friendly.
~Microwave friendly, yet it may get hot to the touch.
