Welcome to Ingrid Melief Pottery!

I make fine functional pottery for use and display out of my home studio in Urbana, Illinois. Although I enjoy making sets of cups, tumblers, and plates, I am not a production potter. Each of my wheel-thrown pieces is unique. I mix my own glazes and all of my pots are food safe.

Please continue reading below for information about USE AND CARE OF POTTERY, my policies regarding SHIPPING, RETURNS, AND EXCHANGES, and SPECIAL ORDERS....

I pride myself on producing light and durable pottery. While chipping and breakage can occur in the course of normal use, as they can with other items in your kitchen or dining room, my pottery is made to be used. All of my pieces are dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe; however, extended time in the microwave is not recommended. Please do not subject your pottery to rapid changes in temperature --from a refrigerator to a hot oven, for example. Let them come to room temperature before putting them in the oven. Never put your pottery on the stovetop or open flame.

Most orders can be packed and in the mail within one business day of confirmation of payment. The time it takes for the package to make its way to you will depend on the shipping method you select. If you have special shipping needs, please contact me at ipmpottery [!at] I'll be glad to assist if I am able. Gift wrapping and simple gift notes are also available.

I really like my pieces, I worry about them when they are in the mail, and so I pack them with great care. In very rare instances items will be damaged in shipping. If your piece arrives damaged, please contact me as soon as possible --and certainly within **3 days** of receipt. A photograph of the damaged item will help me learn what went wrong in the shipping and enable me to make a replacement piece without requesting that the damaged item be returned. Items damaged in shipping will be replaced as soon as possible.

If you choose to return an item, I can accept it for exchange or store credit if you contact me and ship the item back to me within **7 days** of receipt of your order. You are responsible for packing and shipping the items, which must be received back in their original condition.

Requests for custom work are welcome and will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please contact me so we can discuss your special request.
