Great high quality cards. They came in a very attractive box. I plan to use them, but they're presentable enough to make a good gift as well. I'm just hoping that my grandmother finds these "obligatory thank you cards" as funny as I do when she gets one from me.

About

Printing On Any and Every Surface

Throughout college, I found myself focusing on print classes, even with a plethora of art classes at my fingertips. It didn't take me long to discover this was because it is where my passion is. Printing, but especially wood block, always helps me focus my mind on what I find important. It lets me think and in the process I get to create the images in my head. Before print, I'd try to draw or paint my thoughts, and they always looked wrong. Now viewers can see into my imagination the way I want them to.

One project that inspired me to open my shop, and truly made me believe I might have a shot at this whole being-an-artist thing, was when I didn't have enough money to buy a wood block to print. Being desperate for material, I used my own dresser top (it was old anyway, I could only improve it right?). What I discovered was that the furniture itself transformed into this beautiful carving, and the prints were amazing as well! Now I hope to continue carving furniture and printing from them. It's so much fun and transforming tired furniture into something marvelous inspires me to know that my place in this world is to help people see old, sad furniture in a new light.
