Antiquarian Avarice
I fell in love with 'old stuff' the first time I was allowed into my Grandma's attic. I'd spend days up there alone and unafraid even though I was probably only about seven. When I walked into my first antique store in La Crosse, WI as a pre-teen it was an excitement so overwhelming I felt it in my whole body.
My love for antiquarian aesthetics led to an eventual BA in Interior Design and Certificate of Design Psychology. I was fortunate enough to study art and design at institutions throughout Europe and the US.
I started my Etsy shop in 2008 as a potential sales channel for the photography I was exhibiting at local galleries and art shows. I neglected it until 2015 when I tried my hand at selling vintage. Eventually I moved my vintage business to exclusively brick and mortar and so my shop fell to neglect once again.
In September of 2020 I was inspired to re-launch my shop and turn it into a serious enterprise combining both my artistic endeavors and vintage finds. I have been so happy with the rate of growth, the amazing community, and especially, the the amazing customers I've had the privilege of meeting along the way.
I have two adult daughters and live just outside of Minneapolis in a century-old farmhouse on a wooded acre with my chickens and cats. I would love to connect with other vintage lovers / Etsy sellers in the area!
