Cassi designed a beautiful mesa cloth for me, incorporating my ideas for elements within the design along with making perfect suggestions to enhance the meaning behind it. And all for a very reasonable cost as well as timely delivery. Cassi is highly intuitive, facilitating design perfection.

Out beyond ideas of wrong doing and right doing, there is a field. I'll meet you there. -Rumi

Imagine entering the hushed silence of an ancient temple….feeling a deep connection to something mysterious and indescribable. I offer the idea that you and I can create and nurture this connection in our homes, businesses and communities. I want to share with you an idea for creating sacred space.

I create Mythalas. A Mythala is a blending of a mandala—the Sanskrit word for circle or universe—and a person’s myth or story. Mandala…Myth…Mythala.

I create Mythalas with sacred emblems of significant meaning that represent ideas of connection and relating to ourselves, our higher powers and our community. I custom design Mythalas with your guidance; you choose images and symbols that represent what you hold sacred. Your Mythala mirrors your beliefs and tells your story.

Mythalas are made with fabric and leather, threads and paint, using a variety of techniques including painting and stenciling, applique and printmaking. A Mythala can take many different forms; wall hangings, altar cloths, yoga mat bags, prayer mats, prayer shawls, meditation cushions. All these compositions are meant to enhance your personal sacred space.

What symbols strengthen you? Who are the ancestors, helpers or totems that walk with you? Where is the place that you create a sacred, nurturing space in your life? How have you or could you set up this space? What do you imagine about this place? How does it restore and sustain you? How do you rest in it? Your Mythala is created to indwell and abide with you in your personal sacred space.

I envision a world where individuals of all faiths and cultures come together, with a dignifying respect for each other’s beliefs and traditions; where differences are valued and are used to seek solutions, with all people working together to achieve common goals within communities.

Together, we make sacred space commonplace. What's your myth? How do you altar your life?

This is Cassi, the shop owner. I'm her amazing dog Gracee. Cassi gets so involved in creating Mythalas that I have to make sure she stops to rub my belly and give me treats! She is coming along nicely though; living, loving...and taking me for walks.
