Announcement    Welcome to our shop. We offer one of the most unique and really cool gifts that you could ever give. Handcrafted in the USA. So relax, come on in and look around from the comfort of your home. Currently, we are expanding our coasters sets to include more country music artists. Recycled Album Art is the home of the original recycled album cover wood-based coaster. We opened our shop on August 4th, 2008. Our coasters are FUNctional, memory provoking works of art. No two coaster sets are the same as each set is made from the original album cover. Some album covers are branded by the previous owner. Almost all the covers show some signs of wear. Anyway you look at it, you know that you are getting the 'real' thing.

The record coasters are great as a gift for: Valentine's Day, Birthday, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Wedding, Bosses Day, Get Well, Anniversary, Christmas, a favorite music teacher, housewarming or even a farewell party. The coaster sets are a great gift to for customer loyalty for realtors, drug reps or sales reps. Your customer will be impressed that you know what their favorite band or genre of music. How often can you find a handcrafted, heirloom quality, personal, unique gift yet affordable gift? It sure beats a box of chocolates.

Mary is currently working to de-stash her massive amount of fabric. She is making a variety of mug rugs. So may, not be recycled album art, but each piece is made with the love and care put into the album art coasters.

We use the services of USPS. Since our products are created using wood, a coaster set, once packed weighs slightly over 3 pounds. We offer Priority Mail and Priority Express Mail, USPS Parcel Post. For International buyers, we offer: Priority Mail International, Priority Mail Express International and First Class International. Prior to confirming your purchase please review the shipping address. We will ship your purchase with 24 hours of notification of cleared payment.

  • Gift wrapping with handmade tie-dyed fabric strips, recycled 45 vinyl record and album cover scrap gift tag.
  • The original album cover is laminated to a 12" x 12" Baltic Birch blank.
  • The album art cover is cut into nine 4" x 4" tiles.
  • The creation of each coaster requires at least 5 times of hand sanding.
  • Each of the coasters has four layers of polyurethane applied to the top and the four sides of the tile.

The Album Art Cover Coasters are the awesome concept of using the album cover from tired old vinyl records and turning them into an eye catching nine piece puzzle disguised as album cover coasters. When was the last time you held a coaster and you immediately flashed back to when you were a young hip kid? When was the last time you gave a gift to your dad and you immediately became the "golden' child". Enough about the wonders of our Recycled Album Art Cover Coasters. Let's get down to how in the world the amazing coaster/puzzle sets are created.

To start with, we go through our collection. Okay we have spent our fair share of time at auctions and garage sales to build up an amazing collection of scratched and warped records. We select a batch of memories, no I mean albums. Next, we take them to the cutting floor. Hubby has his way with them, slicing, gluing and sanding them to perfection. Hubby and I take turns on who gets to caress the lovelies and put on their cute little felt or cork feet and the four layers of glossy finish. The final step is sliding the little beauties in the curing racks, just waiting for their trip to...somewhere. Boy, I wish I could go to everywhere our babies have been shipped to!

Custom and personalized orders

Recycled Album Art accepts custom and personalized orders. Examples of a custom order, would include a coaster set featuring a reclaimed record album from a atist/band that we do not have in stock. We will work with you and securing the album you request. There may be an additional charge, to cover the cost of purchasing the album.
We love working with you on creating the perfect way to display the record album. Mary is creative and Terry is a master craftsman that understands Mary's wacky ideas!

Care instructions

Recycled Album Art Coasters are heat tolerant such as a cup of coffee - but not to the point of handling items fresh from an oven.
To clean the coasters and warped record bowl, wipe with a damp cleaning cloth.

Gift wrapping and packaging

Finally, we determined a way to provide gift wrapping!

Here's the best way we have found to pack the 9 wood based coasters and warped record bowl: The coasters are placed in the bottom of a 12"x 12" box. Hubby places bubble wrap and cardboard spaces to hold them in place. The record bowl is placed in a 11"x 11" box filled with the bowl and packing peanuts. This box is secured with bubble wrap and placed on top of the coasters.

We tie the coasters to the record bowl box with tie-dyed fabric strips, pull the ends through a random 45 vinyl record, and use a gift tag.

For the coasters with holder: one tie dyed fabric strip and a gift tag.

Coaster sets: To ensure that our handcrafted items are affordable, we have chosen to price are items with very little mark up. Our goal is to create unique music related items to help preserve the memories so many associate with music.
