My journey into the artistic, rather, when I started investing hundreds and eventually thousands of hours practicing and developing artistic skills began with playing guitar in my teens. While I could say I was hooked before I even started thanks to greats of the day like Aerosmith, Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, Cheap Trick and others, the fact of the matter is it took only a few months before I knew this adventure would be a lifelong pursuit.

While writing and recording music, playing guitar and live performance were my main artistic passions for decades, life experience gained through jobs in the manufacturing industry, particularly that of aerospace and aircraft, forged my passion to “make stuff.”

This desire to “make stuff” took on a life of its own around 2009 when I bought a CNC routing machine. As usual I went big, buying a machine with a 4’x8′ table and other goodies like multi-tool capabilities. Of course legitimate woodworking cannot be accomplished with just a CNC machine so I ended up with a full-on woodshop in my garage. After 7 years of enjoying the craft, learning new things and making many beautiful items (though the wood certainly gets a fair portion of the credit), I decided it was time to reclaim my garage and move on.

It didn’t take long to realize I needed another outlet to “make stuff” in fact, I don’t think I had sold a single piece of woodworking machinery before deciding I wanted to work with metal again. The experience I gained learning CAD/CAM in the woodshop led me down the path of jewelry design.

So here I am, enjoying another chapter in the lifelong pursuit of the artistic and hope that you’ll come along for the ride.
