A new adventure using an old skill...

I started sewing about the age of 8. My mom made all of our clothes and many hours were spent in fabric shops picking out fabrics as a child. I loved making my own things, being creative, picking out which color went with what. Throughout the years I made holiday decorations, baby shower gifts, and then I started making bags. Tote bags, zippered pouches, wallets, any kind of bag I could think of. I started making them and giving them as gifts for friends and family. They loved them! They always remarked how I could sell them. Well, little did I know that that is exactly what would happen.

I grew up working on our family farm and then after college working for small “mom & pop” businesses. I saw the effects of what “buying local” and supporting small businesses meant to a community. After my job of 13 years came to an end I realized just how important small businesses are to the local community and how much I enjoyed being a part of it. While trying to figure out what was next, my friends and families words came echoing back into my head. And so began "In Stitches".

In May 2014 I attended my first farmers market as a vendor selling tote bags, zippered pouches, and wallets. I loved being a part of the community again offering high quality products that are reusable, offering fun prints for my customers to choose from and letting them show their sense of style. I pay special attention to detail and use the best quality fabrics, thread, and zippers for each handmade item. Thank you for supporting a small business and I hope that you find many years of enjoyment and use out of your unique, one-of-a-kind, "In Stitches" item!
