About

When we couldn't find elegant or tasteful gay cards, we made our own! Delve into our collection, and write in your own words, like no one else can.

Our company, in your own words, was born of two circumstances: first, our personal frustration in being unable to find greeting cards for our gay, lesbian, bi and trans friends and family that weren't crude, inane, sarcastic or vulgar. Second, a collection of hundreds of photographs of proud, affectionate men, women and children accumulated over decades attending auctions, flea markets, shops and sales.

We passionately believe that:
~there are those who wish to celebrate LGBTQ events with fun, pride & joy
~our heritage & life events are worthy of dignity & respect
~there is a community unafraid to write personal sentiments in their own words, instead of some corporation's
~there are survivors of HIV who are capable of proudly crafting lovely, loving greeting cards, one at a time, in a small Maine cottage industry
~small, independently-owned shops are community treasures
~our planet must be cherished and protected
~our children must be raised in a world in which they are not afraid of being who they are or loving anyone

Since being named a “Best New Product of the Year” at the National Stationery Show, our cards, our values and the significance of the handwritten sentiment remain even more important in this world increasingly fraught with the fast and furious, the rude and risqué. The global village of the internet enables us to share these photographs and their silent stories with others across our nation and beyond.

Our company office and warehouse is located in an 18th Century Maine barn and farmstead built by Bachelder Stetson on the land grant awarded him for his services in the American Revolution. We’re proud to be historic, small and personal. You will reach one of us most any time you call, and handwritten communication with you will be just as personal. We still remember our cursive lessons!

We may never know the exact intents and emotions in the faces of these photographs, these intimate moments captured in light and shadow. Still, the sentiments they evoke about our relationships today have timeless meanings and interpretations that elevate our passages to moments worthy of remembrance. These are greeting cards that will be shared, kept, framed and recalled long past the days of their celebrations. In their hands the recipients hold a timeless wish, the givers remembered because YOU cared enough to write ~ in your own words.
