About

Handmade jewellery shaped from natural and recycled Australian wood and made with love in Western Australia

The inspiration for all Ipsa products stems from a love of nature and a desire to use natural, recycled and locally sourced materials to created unique products of simple beauty and charm.

Ipsa is one of my middle names and it means “herself” in Latin. Ipsa is a family name, passed down through the generations. My mum started researching our family tree before I was born and decided to continue the tradition by passing the name on to me from my Great-aunt.

Growing up in Western Australia, I have always had a love of the natural world. Childhood memories include scrambling over desert-red breakaway rocks, spring time orchid spotting trips in to the bush and chilly morning swims in turquoise oceans with snow-white sand.

While my parents were building their dream home in WA’s south-west, they managed to source the wandoo floor of an old badminton court for floorboards.
I had an idea to try to make a pendant from one of the offcuts and my Dad helped me make it a reality. Ipsa Creations was born.
I still travel down through the woodlands of the south-west to do the initial shaping of the pendants on my parents farm. I then usually finish by sanding and painting on my apartment's tiny balcony in Perth.

I try to use eco-friendly, natural materials wherever possible in my production and presentation. And for a long lasting quality finish and for those with sensitive skin, I’ve chosen to use Sterling Silver chains and titanium findings.
