I purchased this steam punk horse for my boyfriend: he is an engineer that designs bridges and programs ! Currently this horse is residing on his desk in his office; most of his coworkers are having fun attaching various highly magnetic balls to him in order to make saddles, wings, ears, eyes, and other fun accessories! It's providing entertainment, and looks beautiful! Thank you

Love, love, love this! What a perfect accent for an otherwise boring kitchen counter!

Putting together some button displays for an upcoming craft show. Every step is done completely by hand!
I'm using a needle tool and damp sponge to clean and smooth the edges of a small batch of heart dishes. The clay in this state is very fragile and can easily break. I've lost many pieces while "cleaning" them, but I always remind myself, it's just mud!

Metal & Mud ~ Our Story

Our name "IronNearth" was chosen to represent both the metal and clay materials that are used to create every unique piece in our shop. For the metal work, every single cut is done individually and free handed. We use a variety of methods including torching, welding, and hand bending. Inspiration for these pieces is drawn from a variety of sources, including Pop Culture, comics, sic-fi and the Renaissance. We have anything from furniture, functional sculptures, hooks and racks, and figurines that will make your imagination run wild.

Metal is a challenging material to work with, in that, it's regular state is fixed, and heat must be applied to make it workable. Clay, on the other hand, is quite the opposite. Clay is flexible and plastic in its natural state, and is made permanent by heat. Working with clay also presents a unique set of challenges. The pottery wheel, slab building, coiling, and carving are an example of the many techniques used to create the clay pieces in our shop. An eclectic blend of traditional pots, mosaic pieces, jewelry and decorative dishes leaves something for everyone! We are always open to custom orders.
