    About FalconIsland

    On Etsy since 2011

The forest speaks in whispers to our souls...

Living in a deep groove of the forest brought me in close contact with the owls, crows, hawks, and eagles who made their nests in our valley home, wheeling above us on the hunt and shouting their powerful voices to the sky.

Recently I was amazed to see an Eagle attack a Hawk mid-air, drive him out of his hunting ground, and then drop 40 feet straight down to pluck a smaller bird from the sky as prey. Nature’s melodrama was played out daily just beyond my doorsteps.

When I create a feathered collar or paint a magnificent bird cloak, I try to bring the wisdom and power of the animal to the piece, to be channeled into the spirit of the wearer.

Peace and blessings to you all... thank you for giving me the opportunity to support my family and make art my side job!

Many people wonder about washing the cloaks. Because they are made of synthetic wool, washing is not advised. However, I have run painted pieces of cloak thru the wash on cold and they did not run or fade. Water safe, hang dry. Use a lint roller or brush to clean dried dirt off.
