About

I think I always wanted to be a part of an age old trade -- working with my hands encourages me to express myself freely.

Isobell was born somewhere between the hands and the heart of up and coming jewelry designer Melody with the vision of creating unique, limited run jewelry made from salvaged materials for real people at real prices. Every piece in the Isobell line has been thoughtfully designed and created by hand by Melody herself, in Oakland, California.

Elegant pieces that reflect her hometown and lifestyle: equal parts urban reinvigoration, inspiration, passion and hope. Each piece is created with the immediacy of her emotions and the lasting quality of vintage materials dating back to the 1950s. As a result, every piece is unique and many designs may be the only one to ever exist.

Isobell jewelry, inspired by the coast.

Additional policies and FAQs
►JEWELRY CARE TIPS

AS WITH MOST JEWELRY, take off before showering/sleeping, and keep clean & dry in a closed storage when not in use. It will last much longer this way. If I gave you an anti-tarnish strip (for raw brass components) please store with your jewelry.

►STERLING + GOLD FILLED:
To brighten Sterling Silver chain, Gold-FILLED chain and components rub gently with toothpaste + water or jewelry cleaner. Rinse and pat dry. Be careful not to tangle chain. Sterling silver and gold-FILLED components can last a lifetime of normal wear.

►RAW BRASS:
Raw Brass brightens up quickly if you rub gently with a diluted natural acid such as lemon/lime water for about 15 seconds then rinse. You can also use brass cleaners usually sold in drugstores. (I usually have lemon water in a spray bottle handy) A smooth Nail Buffer (not the file) will work for spots and make it super shiny. All raw brass will darken if not cleaned once in awhile, like silver.

►GOLD + SILVER PLATE:
Do not scrub Gold or Silver-PLATED components. To prolong PLATED gold/silver/raw brass/copper jewelry components wash gently with mild detergent and water, take off before showering/sleeping, and store in a closed container. Lasts longer if kept clean. Plated components may eventually fade over time but will last much longer if taken care of.

►VINTAGE COMPONENTS:
I carry mostly brass vintage components, you can clean just like raw brass but less frequently and gently. They need a little TLC, but they do make for charming pieces. :)
