Organic minimalist jewelry for adventurous hearts

of the Hills is a Seattle-based jewelry collection created by telle ter Horst with an emphasis on thoughtfully sourced materials. My designs are inspired by a sense of timelessness, imagining they could coexist with styles of the distant past or the inevitable future. The world around us is constantly expanding and molting, and my design process mimics this organic, fluid process. The result is an aesthetic of timelessness and rugged beauty. I hope you find something here that will accompany you through your many seasons.

Proudly made on Earth, I utilize manufacturing processes that inspire me, using primitive techniques when possible, technology where efficient, and little to no toxic substances. As of summer 2017, all designs are fabricated in my studio in Seattle.

I focus on salvaged and vintage materials and source additional goods from small businesses who embrace the same values as me and manufacturers who have reputations for the quality of their products.

I leave my brass untreated and raw; with age and wear, raw brass will tarnish. This is intentional and results in jewelry that evolves with the wearer. The shine can be renewed with brass polish or household ketchup.

I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom
of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.
The function of man is to live, not to exist.
I shall not waste my days trying to prolong them.
I shall use my time.

-Jack London

Additional policies and FAQs
We exercise great concern when sourcing our materials, and we are always on a hunt for the most stunning, rare, and ethical materials. The more intricate the story of a component, the more infatuated we become. We focus on salvaged, vintage, and repurposed materials; we source additional goods from small businesses who embrace the same values as us and manufacturers who have reputations for the quality of their products.

All purchases come thoughtfully gift-wrapped and ready to give, or keep! We take extra measures to use eco-friendly and salvaged packaging. We love our planet, our universe, our galaxy!

Many of our creations are made using brass, a copper/zinc alloy. It is a romantic metal, giving the allure of gold without the hefty price. In efforts to minimize harmful chemicals in the production of our designs, we leave our brass untreated and raw. With age and wear, raw brass will tarnish. We quite like the look of tarnished brass, but if its not your thing, you can always polish it to shine with common brass polish. We carefully source our metals to ensure they are lead and nickel free.

Is Was + Will Be is a global brand and we are always looking for new shops to carry our brand. For more information, please contact us at: info [!at]
