About ItchforKitsch

Bold, upbeat decor that has a history.

The story:
At the end of my senior year in high school, I began visiting second-hand shops as a way to unwind and take some time for myself. I soon realized that I could find items like the ones in my favorite decor magazines that compliment my relaxed style and satisfy my love for vintage.
If I hadn't started my shop, I believe my house would be completely overrun by vintage, and then I wouldn't be able to continue buying fun, unique decor. Because of this, I am thrilled that I have an outlet through which I can share my finds.

The shop:
Itch for Kitsch is an online collection of upbeat vintage items for your home. I choose items that reflect my personal taste and the aesthetic of decades past. Most of the items are from the 60′s and 70s (although other decades sneak in from time to time), and I specialize in “kitsch.”

The focus:
Kitsch is easier to show than it is to explain and often differs depending on a person’s perspective. To me, a kitschy item can be one that is so ugly it’s cute (which would make some people’s kids kitschy, right?) or one that is tacky/gaudy but makes me smile. I believe that while material possessions shouldn't be a person’s only source of joy, decor can sometimes help brighten a person’s environment and improve their quality of life. My goal for the shop is this: to add a little “kitsch” to someone’s life.

Thanks for visiting my shop! I'm Dani, a second year college student who believes a trip to a second-hand shop is a treasure hunt and has taken up the adventure as a hobby. However, I cannot keep all of the items I fall in love with, so I'm passing along some of my favorite finds for you to enjoy.

In my shop you'll find vintage, novelty, collectible, and one-of-a-kind items. If you are looking for something in particular, let me know and I'll keep an eye out.

Returns and exchanges
Items may be returned and the buyer refunded if the item is damaged in transit or if there is a major discrepancy between the item's description and the item itself. I do my best to disclose the condition of the item in its entirety, even if it is flawed, so that you know what to expect.

Returns for clothing may be accepted upon seller's discretion, but shipping costs will not be refunded, and buyer will pay return shipping costs. Please read the description carefully for measurements and message the seller if you have any questions at all about the fit, material, condition, etc before making your purchase.

Due to the nature of the items I sell, I cannot list every minor detail. I purchase my items second hand, and many are in vintage condition, so a small amount of wear and tear is expected, but I take great care to disclose any flaws/damage that would compromise the functionality or appeal of the item.

If you have any questions at all about the item's condition, please do not hesitate to message me. Also, I would be glad to take and send more detailed pictures of the item you are interested in.
I accept Paypal and will send the item(s) as soon as a payment has been received.

I also accept money orders on local (Tuscaloosa, AL, USA) orders. Please message me before making a purchase so I may set that up for you.

If you would like for me to reserve an item for you, please message me and I will be glad to hold the item for you; please note that I will only hold the item for 24 hours, and if you have not purchased it in that time I will open it back up to all buyers.
Orders will be shipped within 2 days after a payment has been received (if for any reason I will not be able to ship it within 2 days, I will notify you). If you need an item asap, message me and we will discuss express shipping options.

Whether you are buying one item or multiple items from my shop, I will automatically refund you the overage via Paypal if it does not cost me the full amount you are charged for shipping (price of shipping materials is included in shipping cost) and it amounts to $2 or more.

I ship orders via USPS (most often First Class mail to save costs), and they are packaged in either new or recycled boxes, depending on the weight and shape of the item(s) and the boxes I have available at the time. If you have a preferred postal service or would like the item shipped with particular materials (or gift wrapped), I will be happy to make accommodations upon request.
Additional policies and FAQs
Buying and selling second-hand items is a hobby of mine, but I handle all shop-related matters professionally and in the best interest of both buyer and seller. If you are unhappy with a transaction, please message me so that I can resolve any issues!
