ithaka ephemera are handmade using vintage books, maps, scraps, photographs, magazines and other reclaimed paper sources. Unduplicated and unduplicat-able, clever and quirky, each stands alone as a small collage artwork. These cards are gifts unto themselves!

As soon as each one-of-a-kind design is sold, it’s gone forever! So check back frequently and don’t hesitate if you see something you like. Remember: It doesn't need to read "Happy Birthday" to be a birthday card.

Shop policies

Thanks for checking out ithaka! ithaka designs are typically an interplay between images and text, and what each evokes. The materials used for ithaka cards are scavenged from estate and garage sales, office supply clearance tables, and flea markets. I don't cut into books unless they are outdated and/or already damaged.

Cards come singly or in sets of four with handmade envelopes, which are sturdy and include adhesive and mailing labels so they’re ready to pop in the mail. Envelope designs vary; usually made of calendar pages, glossy magazine or book pictures, or maps.

Accepted payment methods

Payment
If you buy ithaka cards, please make your payment immediately, either via PayPal or contact me to let me know you're sending a personal check. Cards that are paid for with a personal check will not be mailed until the check has cleared the bank, unless I know you or you have ordered from me before.
Shipping
ithaka cards will be shipped with care via U.S. Mail in a protective envelope. ithaka is not responsible for loss or damage.

Please inquire if you live out of the United States.
Refunds and Exchanges
ithaka cards are non-refundable but if you're unhappy with a shipment, talk to me and we'll work something out.
Additional policies and FAQs
These truly unique, one-of-a-kind collage-type cards are made with care and love, but sometimes have minor technical flaws (slightly off-center; imprecise cut). This is part of their charm! If you want completely a neat and perfect design, there are many cards available on Etsy that were assembled from kits.
