Very nice and as in pic! (Just a suggestion: Would the "relief side" of the plate probably look better looking outside?)

About

it's by design // my story // say you love it!

I've always made things. Even as a young girl I designed my own cross-stitch patterns. My focus was always on art. In 1979 I earned my Associates Degree in Art from Grand View College in Des Moines, Iowa. My mother taught me to sew when I was young. So, to quench my thirst for art while raising 3 great kids, and relocating from Iowa to North Carolina to Colorado and back to North Carolina, I began quilting. I quilted and quilted.

Somewhere along my way I began painting murals on ceramic tiles and started my business: it's by design. I knew even then that my creative gene couldn't be constrained to a company name with limits. I planned all along to use the freedom in that name. It's 'by design' that I changed my creative mind and fell hard for designing and making jewelry.

My "favourite" sister Carol introduced me to jewelry making. It didn't take long before I was working at a local jewelry supply store known for teaching and sharing crafty knowledge. Soon I was learning everything I could from the people around me. The customers I served and my incredibly talented co-workers.

Not to be left out of this story of me is my Dad. When I was young he taught me how to use a hammer, saw, drill and power sander, even a miter box. So here I am today, using all kinds of tools and know-how in creating my jewelry.

When I made the transition from selling my jewelry in my home to my friends, to trying to 'reach the world' through my website, there was an entirely new set of tools and creativity I would need. I've embraced this creative world wide web with the same enthusiasm that I have for all my other projects.
Really, every aspect is a form of art and I enjoy it all.

I've been making jewelry since 2001. Thank goodness that styles are always changing. Because, there is an endless supply of ideas floating around this head of mine.

Lastly, my tag line.
If you have children or have had them in your life, you know that there are hundreds of things you say or have said because of them. Somewhere along the line while raising my children and making many crafty things for them (remember that quilting phase?), I used to say to them:
"say you love it, say it's what you've always wanted"

so...
it's by design
...say you love it!

I'm a Midwestern girl who was transplanted to the South 25 years ago and LOVE it! Create is my favorite word. I love how there are really no boundaries in creating jewelry. Every design in my head, can at the very least be attempted!

Additional policies and FAQs
. . . jewelry care

Over time, your brass, copper, and sterling silver might begin to patina or tarnish. This is totally normal. If you do not like the look of the aged patina, it's easy to clean your metal jewelry with an old toothbrush and some whitening or baking soda toothpaste.

In order to keep your metal pieces looking bright longer, do not shower or swim with them on, especially in chlorinated pools.

A great place to store your clean and dry metal jewelry is in plastic bags to keep it protected from the air. I have found that even a plastic storage bin is a huge help. The worst place to keep your jewelry is lying exposed to air and humidity on your bathroom counter! The humidity drastically speeds up tarnishing.
