Announcement    Welcome to my shop!
Updated on December 30th: Due to increased volume and backlog at sorting centers across Canada and the US there have been further delays is deliveries. Please refer to Canada Post’s special statement regarding delays, in the following link. Delays also apply to priority express post shipping. Seriously, it took nearly 3 weeks for my grandson's birthday gift just to get off Vancouver Island, which I shipped via Xpresspost. Now it's been stuck in Richmond for the last 3 days. Good thing he is only 4 so wont know the difference.

As sellers, we have absolutely no control with what happens to packages once they enter the postal systems. It's a crap shoot right now! To note, Etsy has their own delivery standards, which have not been updated since COVID-19 hit, and does not take into account the current state of affairs within the delivery systems such as Canada Post and USPS. I will do my utmost to dispatch as soon as possible and continue to offer my 'boutique' style of service. Thank you for your patience. :)
~~~~~~
The following are average shipping times right now but please note, delivery may be delayed further as many sorting stations and postal delivery routes have staffing shortages due to COVID-19 illnesses.
I ship Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays now, as our rural post office is closed weekends and Wednesdays.
New Rates as of January 5th, 2021:
~Within Canada: at least 6 to 8 business days (Monday to Friday, excluding holidays)
* $2.00 for regular letter mail up to 100 grams - no tracking or insurance
** $24.51 for Expedited Parcel up to 100 grams - tracking and insurance included (I know, insane!)
(This price may vary depending on location and Provincial taxes. If the price is less I will refund the
difference. If it is more I will cover the overage.)
~To the US: at least 12 to 18 business days (Monday to Friday, excluding holidays)
* $8.27 Canadian$ Small Packet Air up to 100 grams - no tracking or insurance
(Canada Post raised 2020's rate by $0.20 and have now added a $0.39 fuel surcharge)
** $13.96 Canadian$ Tracked Packet Air up to 100 grams - tracking and insurance included
~International: at least 18 to 25 business days (Monday to Friday, excluding holidays)
* $27.27 Canadian$ to Australia & UK up to 100 grams.
Tracked Packet Air - tracking and insurance included
These times are an approximation and can take even longer if packages get tied up at border customs or during severe weather conditions. Please give extra time during the holiday shopping season to ensure that your goodies arrive in a timely manner.
Please note:
*Once a package enters the postal system it is out of my hands. Therefore, I will not take responsibility for lost or stolen mail, or major delays. Please ensure that your mailing info is up to date, to avoid delivery delays. Should you provide the incorrect address we will have to wait for the package to be returned to me. At that point you will have two options: 1) Request a refund, minus shipping cost. 2) Have it shipped back to you but you will need to pay for new postage. In this case I will send you an invoice and will ship once payment has been received.
*You do have the option of upgrading the shipping method to include tracking and insurance during the checkout process.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For hygienic reasons, I don't accept returns on any of my jewelry items. If there is a problem with the item, however, please let me know.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All items are assembled (and hand painted where applicable) by me in a smoke and pet free environment. I take care to wrap orders in tissue, card pouches, gift bags, and then ship in bubble envelopes. Treasures safely delivered from my home to yours.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Note about silver plate: Silver plate is different from silver filled. Silver plate can be glossy, dull, or even give the appearance of a grey stainless steel color. This is due to the level of tin content. This silver composition is plated over a base metal, which is very often copper. Most of my silver colored charms are silver plated, unless otherwise stated in the material listings. As an example the high gloss, bright silver, charms, or glossy steel colored charms are rhodium plated. Silver filled, on the other hand, is a purer grade of silver and the plating is fused to a brass base.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Item hues and colors may vary slightly from the real thing depending on your browser and/or monitor. Blues and greens are especially notorious.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pay one flat fee for shipping for the first 100 grams. Should your order exceed 100 grams I will request that you pay the additional postage via an invoice that I will send from Pay-pal and must be paid before I ship. Your best bet, though, is to ask me to create a special order listing for you. It's no trouble at all. That way I can combine shipping too. If you would like a shipping estimate before hand please let me know as I have a scale.

Thanks for stopping by!

About itsmythingdesigns

Sales 1,667
On Etsy since 2009

This is my passion...

It all began in a land far, far away...well, kind of. I've come full circle.

My creative roots began as a child when I would make Barbie clothes out of fabric scraps, design forts, which I would wrangle my younger brothers into building, and being a pirate. I have to admit that my map making skills were terrible so most treasures were never found. Mostly my brothers' matchbox cars.

When I was nine my family moved from the lower mainland to Northern Vancouver Island. Yeah, I'm an Island girl! I was befriended by some of the First Nations girls that I went to school with in Fort Rupert. They would invite me to their homes on the reserve where I learned all kinds of crafts from the Grandmothers. It was my true beginning for the love of all things creative.

After college and a bit of a career I married and moved to Alberta. I took up cross stitch while expecting our first child, in 1989, and began designing my own charts. By 2005 I had 32 designs so began selling them on-line. In 2006 I began dabbling in jewelry designing.

After a successful run at craft shows and selling on another site one of my sis-in-laws told about Etsy so decided to give it a go. That was is 2009. I had already established my brand name, which I created and registered in 2004, elsewhere but it still took about 3 years to establish myself as a seller on Etsy, having just a few sales here and there throughout the year. Once it took off, though, my sales increased rapidly. With so much jewelry being sold out there I consider this a great victory and if I could offer advise to anyone who sells on-line, don't get discouraged. It takes time.

In April 2014 we moved back to the Island and I am happy to report that I quickly established myself in my new community through volunteering. It's good to be 'home' again.

To say I enjoy what I do is an understatement. Creating is my passion. It's my thing and I love it!
