Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalised orders

I am open to customised and personalised orders. If you love one of my designs, but would love it even more in a different shape, colour, pattern etc, please feel free to get in touch and I would do my best to accommodate your request.

Wholesale availability

I am open to selling my products as a wholesale. Please get in touch via Etsy, Instagram (@izzitclay) or Email (izzitclay@outlook.com) to discuss this further.

Care instructions

Polymer clay is a great material for jewellery, as it is strong yet lightweight.

However, my products must still be treated with care, as they may break/scratch if dropped onto a hard surface or crushed in any way. When transporting your jewellery you should keep it in a small box away from other items, which may scratch the clay.

Polymer clay is water resistant, so if you get any dirt, makeup etc on your item, you can wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. However, you should avoid wearing your jewellery in the shower/pool.

Avoid using chemicals or solvents near your item, such as perfume and hairspray.

Keep your items out of heat and direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time.

Is my jewellery hypoallergenic?

Yes, all fixing's are silver plated, meaning they shouldn't cause any irritation or allergic reaction.

How long will I have to wait for my order?

All my items are handmade, and often made to order, so I need a little time to get your order ready before posting!

I aim to have your items in the post within a maximum of 5 days from ordering. It is usually much quicker than this, but can be up to 5 days during busy periods.

If you opt for free delivery, your parcel will be sent Royal Mail 2nd class, which takes 2-3 working days.

If you need your item more quickly, you can also choose to have your order sent 1st class for an additional charge.

What is polymer clay?

Polymer clay is a type of modeling clay, which hardens when baked. When baked correctly, polymer clay is very strong and remains somewhat flexible even when cured. Polymer clay is extremely lightweight, making it the perfect material for jewellery.

How is your jewellery made?

All pieces are lovingly handmade and each has it's own unique charm.

I mix all of my own colours, so I can get the exact shade I want, this makes my designs even more unique.

I then use various techniques to make unique patterns and textures in the clay.

Next the clay is cut into shapes, and baked in the oven for at least an hour.

After baking, I sand each piece to give the clay a smooth finish and ensure there are no rough edges.

I then hand drill tiny holes into my shapes, so they are ready to be assembled into jewellery.

Nearly there...Earring posts are now glued on using resin for a strong hold.

Finally, jump loops are used to assemble different elements together and form the finished piece!

How will my item be packaged?

All items are sent in attractive but eco friendly packaging, and would be perfect to send directly as a gift.

Your jewellery will first be placed on a branded Izz it Clay? backing card or in a pretty gift bag. Next they are neatly wrapped in tissue paper and placed in a recyclable box. Finally I pop the box in a biodegradable mailing bag for extra protection.

A personalised note can be added in for free, if you would like to send it as a gift.
