JaBella Designs brings fresh start

After a whirlwind few years that involved juggling a very busy career in journalism, marrying my best friend, purchasing a new home, grappling with the death of my father, and then becoming a mother in 2016, I was given the opportunity to slow down.

I knew I wanted to continue expressing my creativity through some method, but I also wanted to make sure that any venture allowed flexibility and time for my family.

During the months that followed, I rekindled my love of refurbishing vintage items and creating new products for my own home. I soon realized that eye for design and ability to notice the small details – the same skills I used as a journalist and editor – could be used in providing products for others.

And that is how I began my journey on Etsy, a medium that allows people like me to draw beauty from imperfections and to grow our passion into something more.

So, how does this relate to you?
Well, my intentions are to pass this rediscovered joy onto you.

Each vintage item and newly made piece has its own characteristics that I try my very best to enhance and bring to life in a unique fashion. When you purchase an item from JaBella Designs, my goal is to provide you with a quality piece that reflects my ability to notice the details others often miss – just like I used to do in the newsroom.

Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:

Returns and exchange details
If for any reason you are not 100% satisfied, you may return your purchase within 30 days for a full refund or exchange after contacting me within 7 days of its arrival. Unless there are extenuating circumstances, as described below, buyers are required to pay for return shipping costs.

DAMAGED ITEMS:
In the rare event that an item is damaged during shipping, a photo of the product and all of the related shipping materials must be provided to me within 3 days of arrival. It is important to have documentation of how the product arrived for insurance purchases. After I have received the necessary information, we will resolve the matter in a way that best suits your needs, which could include sending you a replacement, if available, free of charge.

REFUNDS:
No refunds will be issued until an order is safely returned or other arrangements have been agreed upon.

EXCEPTIONS TO RETURN POLICIES:
All sales are final on items marked 20% off or more unless an item arrives damaged. In that case, please refer to the policies listed above.

All sales are final to international customers.
Payment
Clients are responsible for reading current production times prior to ordering. My lead times are listed on every listing, as well as at checkout, and in the shop announcements on my shop homepage. By placing an order with my shop, you are agreeing to these estimated production times.

READY-TO-SHIP ITEMS:
Items that are already finished are shipped within about 3 business days, often times sooner, once payment has been made.

MADE-TO-ORDER ITEMS:
Products that need to be completed have a production time of 2 to 6 weeks. This is an estimated time frame that is designed to take into account orders made locally and online. I will do everything in my power to ensure your order is shipped by the date provided on your Etsy purchase receipt. If for any reason your order cannot be shipped within 3 business days of the scheduled ship date, I will let you know as soon as possible.

For orders comprising more than 4 items, please allow at least 4 weeks for completion. Orders comprising 5 or more items can take up 6 to 8 weeks, depending on the type of products purchased.

All made-to-order items are shipped within 3 business days after your order has been completed.

ORDERS FOR SPECIFIC OCCASIONS:
Please let me know prior to placing an order if you need it by a particular date, so that I can plan accordingly to ensure you receive everything in a timely manner.

If we have not discussed a particular deadline either before or immediately following your purchase, I cannot guarantee your order will be completed and delivered in time for your event. It is vital that I am made aware of any specific dates and events. Depending on the situation and the number of items ordered, you may be subject to a rush order fee to ensure a timely delivery.

CUSTOM ORDERS:
Clients who place custom orders may make up to 3 separate down payments, with the first payment required before any work begins. The last payment must be made before any custom orders are shipped.

Custom orders are usually completed within 2 to 4 weeks after we have finalized the details and payment has been made. Large orders comprising more than 5 items could require up to 8 weeks to complete.

Custom items are shipped within 3 business days after your order has been completed.
Shipping
Shipping rates comprise not only the postage price and applicable insurance but also any and all costs related to packaging materials, as well as handling fees.

SHIPPING OVERAGES:
The shipping rate charged per item is based on coast-to-coast delivery. Depending on your location, the final shipping price could be less than what you originally paid. Any substantial difference in the amount charged for shipping and handling fees and the actual costs associated with shipping your order will be credited back to you through a partial refund.

COMBINED SHPPING DISCOUNTS:
Combined shipping rates are automatically offered once you have added multiple items to your shopping cart. The discount varies depending on the original shipping and handling price per item.

FREE SHIPPING:
Free shipping is available to U.S. customers for orders totaling more than $200. International clients are not eligible to receive free shipping.

USPS SHIPPING:
Depending on the size and weight of an order, items are shipped via USPS Priority Mail, FedEx, UPS, or through First Class Mail. Regardless of the type of service used, all customers will receive tracking information upon shipment.

Items shipped via USPS Priority Mail:
Orders are shipped within 3 business days after placing your order for a completed item or upon completion of a made-to-order item. Please allow 2-3 business days for delivery.

Items shipped via UPS or FedEx:
Orders are shipped within 3 business days after placing your order for a completed item or upon completion of a made-to-order item. Please allow 5-9 business days for delivery.

Please note, if you are a resident of Alaska, Hawaii or a U.S. territory, it could take as long as 10 business days for your order to arrive depending on the size and weight of the order.

U.S. MILITARY ADDRESSES:
JaBella Designs is a military-friendly shop and does ship to APO/FPO addresses.

All active-duty service members and their families are eligible to receive 20% off every order. Just enter the coupon code MILITARY20 at checkout to take advantage of this offer.

The only requirement to be eligible for this discount is that all orders must ship to an APO/FBO address or domestic military base.

Any attempts by ineligible customers to use this discount will result in a canceled order.

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS:
Made-to-order items and custom orders require 2-3 weeks to complete in most cases.

Customs information will be provided upon shipment.

Please allow more time for your order to be delivered. Depending on the country, it could take up to 6 weeks for your order to arrive.

WHOLESALE INQUIRIES:
Wholesale orders are accepted under certain guidelines and policies. To find out more information about placing large quantity orders for resale at a brick-and-mortar store, email jabelladesigns [!at] gmail.com. Products purchased under wholesale contracts are prohibited from being resold through any e-commerce website, such as Etsy and EBay.

MISCELLANEOUS:
In addition to selling on Etsy, I operate an eBay store under the same brand that offers most of my handmade products and new boutique brands.

If you’re in the Middle Tennessee area, be sure to stop by my vendor booth at locally owned Patina Interiors in Murfreesboro to view my handmade products and new boutique retail items.

All items are stored in a clean, smoke-free environment.

All decorative items used in pictures of items for sale are not included with your purchase unless specified. This includes all easels, decorative plants and containers.

PAINTED DECOR:
Each painted piece is brought to life through a multistep process that comprises sanding, priming, painting, glazing and/or distressing, and sealing, as well as repairing any significant imperfections on vintage items. These same techniques are completed on the back of each frame as well. Usually, this process - aside from curing times - takes between 2 and 4 hours on each frame, depending on the size and design.

I also provide new acid-free backing materials in each frame and install new mounting hardware, which secures all of the backing materials in place.

Due to the nature of antiquing and distressing items by hand, made-to-order items may slightly differ from those pictured in the listing, though every effort is made to match the overall design and color of items as closely as possible. These differences, however, only add to the unique charm of each piece.

FABRIC DECOR:
Fabric decorations and wreaths are handmade using new fabrics, vintage fabrics, grosgrain ribbon, satin ribbon and/or various types of lace.

All of my garlands and banners are made using my own combinations, not pre-made kits or packs. Many of these fabrics have been collected over a period time or are purchased from boutique-quality brands such as Riley Blake. Most garlands and banners include at least one vintage fabric.

Each garland, banner or wreath takes between 2 and 6 hours to make, depending on the length or size. I take the time to ensure each piece is full, without any gaps, and that it looks good from all angles.

All of my fabric decorations are designed to coordinate with my hand-painted decor.

Together, my hand-painted and handmade products provide you with the opportunity to create a custom collection of decorative items that will last for many years to come.

Frequently asked questions
Do you leave any part of a product unfinished?

All items are completely painted on the backs or bottoms, as in the case of candle holders.

My products are designed to look good from every angle. Nothing is left unfinished.

Do you offer a rush on made-to-order items and shipping?

If you need a ready-to-ship item within 72 hours, I will be happy to send it via USPS Priority Mail Express for an additional fee via a custom listing.

The shipping rate will be determined once I have your shipping address.

If you need a made-to-order item or items finished in less than 2 weeks, please contact me prior to placing an order.

There is a $25 fee to finish 2 items or less in 5 business days. For rush orders that comprise more than 3 made-to-order items, there is a $50 fee to complete the items within 7 days, which accounts for any time needed to work on your order during weekend hours. These fees do not include any additional charges for USPS Priority Express Mail.

Any rush order fees will be paid via a custom listing.

Why am I being charged sales tax on my purchase?

JaBella Designs is a licensed and registered business located in Rutherford County, Tenn. If you are a Tennessee resident, I am required to charge a sales tax in accordance with the law. All sales taxes paid at the time of purchase are collected and remitted to the Tennessee Department of Revenue throughout the year.

If you are not a Tennessee resident but have been charged a sales tax, it is because your state of residency requires Etsy to collect and remit taxes on online sales.
