I love this piece! When I saw this vase, I knew I had to have it. All of Jackie's pieces are beautiful and she is truly a wonderful and artistic potter.

About

Ritual

I spent my childhood rambling through the forests and fields of Western Massachusetts where sneaking in to abandoned mills and vacant farm buildings was a daily pastime. I have always been fascinated with the hand work of rural life - growing food, constructing tools and storage, and arranging dwellings to meet daily needs. I’m interested in how this work connects us with the land and with one another. I see ritual and devotion in this kind of living, and seek to visually communicate this connection in my daily practice using clay.

I’m currently working on a number of different projects: fancygoods, which is a project inspired by the Shakers, and seedware, inspired by many years in the garden with my mother and grandmother. Each design is an amalgamation of ideas about growth, history, utilitarianism, and our interconnectedness.
Ultimately, I’m interested in these connections and the slow, steady growth toward an inner knowing that can guide us.
