In previous generations, re-using and re-purposing what you had was born out of necessity. When you were short on cash, you had to be long on imagination! Giving old things a new life was commonplace down on Jacobus Lane, where my grandparents lived. Jewelry designs using vintage clip earrings or brooches as their main component require special care. These components are 20-70 years old, and are delicate in nature. Exercise care when wearing. Do not immerse in water. Do not use chemical cleaners, scrub or rub to remove dirt. If you must clean your jewelry, spray item with a mild solution of dish soap and water using a mister. Rinse with a mister. Gently pat with a paper towel to remove excess moisture, then air dry.
