Glassblowing: My One Man Band

In my other profession, music (specifically bass), I collaborate with other musicians out of necessity. Glassblowing (the way I learned it) allows me to create things entirely on my own. It gives my loner side a much-needed vehicle. I extend that spirit to this online store by running the whole show by myself.

Everything here is designed, made, photographed, processed and shipped by yours truly. I rent studio time at a local hot shop and run the online store out of my studio apartment. The stockroom and photo studio reside in the kitchen area and shipping materials are stacked up in the bedroom/office. I've always preferred small, intimate quarters - I find minimal overhead is most conducive to creativity.

I like to improvise. One-of-a-kind experimental pieces will always be a part of what I do. (I am also introducing repeatable production-style items and enhancing cohesion within series.)

I consider soft glass to be an endangered art form as utility costs rise and mass-produced imports become ever more widespread. Like the wildlife in the desert terrain I enjoy visiting so much, my goal is to persevere and thrive in this difficult environment. I have faith that a small group of consumers will carry on with discernment and soul.

I am grateful to ETSY for providing a crucial sales venue and enabling me to reach audiences far beyond my region.

I enjoy working for myself and wearing many different hats. As the designer, craftsman, financier, manager, photographer, market analyst, writer, janitor, shipping clerk and hand model, I seldom experience any feeling of monotony.

Thank you for your interest!

My process is experimental by nature. Most items are one-of-a-kind - many would be highly impractical if not impossible to replicate.

Measurements are rounded to the nearest quarter inch. (More precise physical specifications can be provided on request.)

Non credit orders, please be prepared to contact me immediately after the sale, and to have payment en route within 48 hours.

I reserve the right to void a sale of no contact is made and/or payment sent after 1 week.
Shipping charges are approximated and are normally slightly under the actual postage cost. (Handling and packing materials are on me!)

I normally use the US Postal System, Priority Post. This service ensures delivery in 3 business days (including Saturday) within the continental United States. The parcel enters the postal system by the end of the business day after the order is placed. Parcel Post or some other service may be employed when cost factors in highly.

My smaller parcels normally do NOT require a signature for delivery. If you prefer the extra security of signature confirmation, please specify this when you order.

If you have urgent time constraints or strong preferences for a different service, please contact me prior to purchase, and be prepared to cover the additional costs. I do not normally recommend next-day or overnight service - the delays from this smaller town, combined with my often-congested mid-day schedule, make true express delivery an unlikely prospect. (Priority Post is almost as quick and far less costly.)

I welcome international customers! If you message me with a query, I can quickly reconfigure a listing to include shipping to your region. I prefer First Class Post to keep costs reasonable. Delivery times vary quite a bit - even to nearby Western Canada. (What I've seen thus far is 10 days to a month...) Other services or carriers may cut delivery time significantly but add a great deal of expense. The buyer is responsible for all customs & duty. I will NOT misrepresent any details on a customs form for the sake of lowering or evading fees.
Refunds and Exchanges
I will directly reimburse customers for any loss or damage that occurs in shipping. (I may ask for some assistance on your end to file an insurance claim.)

Returns are accepted, but not encouraged. Please study the listing carefully, ask all questions & resolve any uncertainties BEFORE committing to purchase. Refunds on returns may be delayed until the safe return of the item.
