I love adventure, traveling, being creative, and experiencing the flavors and cultures of other countries. I grew up in San Jose, CA, just south of San Francisco, where diversity, Old World traditions, and innovative thinking are melded together to create the most unique cultural experiences.

I began making salsa when I first got married many years ago. On my 30th birthday, I made it my goal to become a great cook like my Dad and Mother In-law. They seemed to be able to throw together the most wonderful meals without recipes and everyone wanted more. I realized then that the secret was in the combination of spices, so I set out on what ended up being a 20 year long adventure learning and experimenting with many types of recipes, spices, and particularly various chili peppers (my true passion).

After years of my family and friends encouraging me to start selling my salsa, on my 50th birthday, Sweet Mama's Jam-n' Salsa was born. I began canning my fresh salsa and selling at craft shows with surprising success. Soon after, I discovered under the Department of Agriculture’s Cottage Law, I was not allowed to sell products using tomatoes. Instead of closing my business, I chose to re-invent my salsas and created Salsa Seasonings where the customer can make fresh salsa adding their own fresh tomatoes or tomato sauce. I had so much fun in my kitchen creating, not just one, but eight distinctively unique, one-of-a-kind, all natural flavors, from mild, almost no heat, to explosively extra hot with no preservative or additives. The best part? - Unlimited uses!

With the one-ingredient recipes I include on every package, you can create incredibly delicious smooth or chunky salsas; gourmet veggie; chip, or cheese dips; grill rubs; flavorings for hamburgers, meatloaf, casseroles, soups, popcorn, and more. My motto became “BE FREE TO CREATE!” and now you can too.
