Everyone says that life changes after you become a mom. And everyone is right.

When my kids were born, my perspective changed. I no longer focused on the things in my life, but rather the people in my life, and how to make our time together memorable.

Some of the fondest memories I have from my childhood were spending summer mornings up in my grandma's attic workspace, her showing me the quilts she had made and teaching me new techniques of how to make things. At my bridal shower, my grandma and mom presented me with a quilt they had embroidered and pieced together. It sits on my bed to this day, and will until the end of time.

I wanted the "things" my kids had to be purposeful and memorable. At first I made embroidered blankets and quilts for them, using the skills and talent that were passed down to me from my grandma and mom. Those blankets and quilts are used by my kids every day, and I hope they will always treasure them that much.

The hats and accessories I began making for my family and friends were to satisfy that need - to make meaningful and memorable items that people can treasure for years and years.

I want my children to remember the time they spent with me, picking out yarn for their special hats, detailing how they want them to look, and the look of excitement when it turns out exactly like they pictured. I would love for my items to conjure fond memories of childhood, not only for my kids, but for others as well.

Just like the fond memories I have of mine.
