Hi

After graduating with a degree in Decorative Art from Nottingham Trent University in 2001 I worked for many years within mental health and care settings from eating disorders to brain injuries providing therapeutic and creative activities for our residents and patients. Once I became I mum I decided to not to go back work and instead go back to what I love and here I am. I have been trading since 2012 and started selling online with my Etsy shop in late 2017. Now I am able to do the things I enjoy for a living and still be around for my son which is the best thing for me ad my family.

I live in rural Staffordshire where I'm lucky enough to have a home studio to work from, my cavapoo Pringle keeps me company most of the day sleeping under my desk while I work. I love working from home as it gives me the flexibility to work when I can around family life.

My business has developed and changed over the years into what it is today, I love stitch, colour and pretty patterns so add some kindness and positivity and you have Jane Kent Studio. I am a firm believer in kindness, it makes the world a nicer place to live and makes me happy too.

All my stitching is done by free hand embroidery, which uses a regular sewing machine and I guide the fabric around to write words. I'm completely self taught and its taken many many hours of practice to get my writing so neat, in fact I think my stitched writing is neater than my handwriting!

I attend a few events each year around the country and I love getting to meet customers and followers in the flesh.
