jblairpottery's Shop Announcement

Welcome to With These Hands Pottery, functional hand thrown stoneware.

After spending the past 12 years in the beautiful mountains of Montana, I have uprooted, and moved back to the east coast, where I grew up.

Much of my influence is from my natural surroundings. The high mountain desert of Bozeman, MT offered a beauty all around, so differnt from the beauty of New England.
I didn't see the fields of golden grasses, rocky mountain tops, and rushing rivers where I found solace, to be reflected in my pottery until after leaving that incredible place.
As I am on a new journey continuing to make pots, just in a new place, it will also be a journey of developing the reflection of my new home.

I have been making pottery for over 16 years. All of my work is handthrown stoneware, high fired in a reduction atmosphere to 2300 degrees. All of my glazes are lead free, and pottery is microwave and dishwasher safe.

I want to create pottery that is not only functional, but beautiful to sight and touch. An earthy and unique feeling in each pot makes for a comfortable piece to hold as you enjoy the goodness it contains. Sharing my work with others allows me to pass on my vision of the peace that nature brings me. Close your eyes and feel with your heart what another has created, and you too can create.

I currently show my work in Cello, a gallery in Bozeman, MT. In Conway, New Hampshire in the White Mountains where I live now, my work shows at the Tamworth Artisans Gallery in Chocorua, NH, The Local Grocer health food market, Raven Wood Curio Shop in Jackson, NH, and the Memorial Hospital Gift Shop in North Conway, NH.

Thanks for looking through my shop and hopefully you will enjoy what you see. And check out my other shop on Esty, RePeace Goods, It is a collection of repurposed fabric bags and other items, along with some vintage things too.
