About

From Riches To Rags & Happy To Be Home!

I am a stay at home Mommy to four beautiful sons whose ages range from 3 to 19 years! My hobbies include a passion for creating cute and fashionable clothes and accessories for my children...and for yours!

Believe it or not I didn't decide as a young girl that I wanted to become a fashion designer extraordinaire. We did not have Project Runway or Fashion Star to lead me in the right direction. What I DID have was a wonderful Mother who could sew like no other! As the oldest of 8 children who all needed to be clothed, it seems like the sound of her Singer humming was the background music of our lives. I remember the throat clutching anticipation of knowing that MY outfit, made just for ME, was coming next. Oh how I loved every single piece that magically appeared from under that sleek silver foot. Still, as I approached womanhood I was sure that I didn't have what it took, and to be honest, wasn't all that interested either. I was an ADULT and knew it ALL. I would conquer the world! In reality I was a stubborn 17 year old who only THOUGHT she knew it all. As a result I married right away and started a family with no clear goal in sight.

Time marched on as I worked endless hours for other people. I worked 3 jobs at some points, turns out being an adult was not nearly as easy or fun as I had thought. Each year brought new stresses and changes in my employment. I went from fast food hourly labor to management, then from management to Corporate training and the "Big Life". All along the way I was quite proud of my accomplishments. They were hard won and deserved! Flash forward a decade or so to the day I realized that I had two tweenaged boys who I barely knew. Oh the crushing pain that realization brought. I WAS NOT who I thought I was nor who I wanted to be! By now I was a single Mom and the wool had been firmly yanked from my eyes. I stepped back several paces to become a waitress and be home more with these kids who now needed me more than ever. Extra "fluff" was set aside in the pursuit of a simpler life...much like the one I had as a child. I met a wonderful man who was so very supportive and loved my children...and wanted more! This time I knew where I was going. The answer had been in front of me all along! When I "grew up" I wanted to be MY MOM! I stopped working and we became pregnant with little man number 3. Something was still missing, but what? Then one day as I was walking through a store trying to find the best deals on the bare minimum requirements of life I saw it...a sewing machine! I couldn't afford it and had no clue what to do with it but I bought it anyway. My heart was full of hope and my mind flooded with memories. And that brings us to today again.......

I scoured the internet for tips, called my Mom OFTEN, pulled more seams than I care to remember. After much trial and error I experienced the overwhelming joy of being where I was always meant to be. I knew I had "Made it" to the right destination when I looked down and saw my infant Son eagerly awaiting his very own outfit, made just for HIM! Tears filled my eyes and pride blossomed my heart as I heard a voice inside my head whisper "It feels great to finally be "Home"!"

Care instructions

Shirts/Dresses/Hats
Best: Hand wash and hang or lay flat to dry.
Acceptable: Machine wash in cold water on gentle cycle. Hang or lay flat to dry.
Machine washing and drying with heat may cause the designs to shrink or distort. Should this happen an iron will usually get it laying flat again but for best results hnaging or laying flat to dry is best.

Boot Socks
Boot socks are VERY delicate and will fall apart in the washer. They must be handwashed and hung or layed flat to dry.
