This is the most fresh smelling soap I've ever tried. Reminds me of being by the sea in St. Thomas. Luv it!

A need to create leads US Virgin Islands attorney back to the world of art and arts and crafts
In September 2011, I started thinking about how much I missed working on paintings and drawings like I used to do when I was very active as an artist and had my own artist's studio. I had closed it years before when my full-time job as an attorney on St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands and working on my two music recordings began taking up so much of my time. By early October 2011, I had started JDNatlady's Creations, LLC with the intention of going back to painting and doing various arts and crafts that I had done over the years and even expanding into new areas of creativity.
In 2008. I had gone back to having natural hair and started making some of my own natural hair products. I went by the name JDNatlady on my blog and in online groups. When I decided to go into business in 2011, adding body butters and then hancrafted and handmade soaps were the next planned steps in expanding my bath, body, and hair products offerings.
There are many people in the Virgin Islands who know me (Aquannette Chinnery) as an artist, a singer, a former radio and television personality, and from many other careers or things in which I have been involved. Some know me as a local attorney, formerly with my own law practice and now as a government attorney. When I started doing my bath, body, and hair products, people would sometimes ask how I knew about how to mix things together in order to come up with new products, but many had forgotten that I started out in science.
Well, things took off in the bath, body, and hair products part of my business, with customer-driven requests for more products and even entire product lines! I have been selling in my tiny B&M (brick and mortar) workshop/store on Saturdays; at my own webstore; and at local fairs, a farmer's market, festivals, and other community events.
Having heard about Etsy some time ago, I thought that it might be a great place to be. It is! This is a great community of artists, craftspersons, sellers, and buyers. I have three shops here on Etsy (soaps and more, jewelry, and knitted or crocheted goods), with a fourth one (art and photography) not far behind. Participating on teams and in forums is great fun, because I embrace various types of social media and social media marketing. Yes, I am on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Flickr, and more.
Having a full-time job makes time management really important. And sleep... what's that? I love creating and appreciate being able to create across so many different areas of creativity. The funny thing is the new expanded business has left little time for painting new works, but I hope to get to them soon. My shop is located on St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands, all items are made by me, and all shipping is done from St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands.
Here in the Virgin Islands JDNatlady's Creations was voted by readers of the Virgin Islands Daily News for Best of the VI for 2015, 2014, and 2013 for soaps. For 2015, JDNatlady's Creations also won Best Locally Made Products/Cultural Products. For 2014, two additional awards were won, and they were Best Locally Made Products and Best Cultural Products. JDNatlady's Creations was also the winner of Best Arts & Crafts 2013 in the 61st Virgin Islands Carnival Cultural Fair.
I am thankful to God for allowing me to experience this season in my life where I am able to find a way to make time for creating and sharing the things I make with others. This about page gives me a chance to share with you a little bit of the processes that I use.
