College hobby turned future career

I started this shop on a whim.

I'd been knitting since I was 11 years old and picked up crocheting in college. I loved experimenting with new stitches and fast projects to show off what I'd learned.

Eventually, my friends convinced me that I should sell some of my hats. It seemed like a good idea considering I had a growing stock pile of hats sitting around my room.

After completing my undergraduate degree in graphic design, I was lucky enough to find a job in my field. I continued crocheting and knitting, selling a few hats here and there.

But it wasn't until I started my MBA that I realized this could and should be my full-time gig someday. Since 2010, I've been investing more time and energy into my blog and, as an effect, my shop.

I graduated from my MBA program in January 2013, and I can't wait to focus on turning my shop into a greater success - and, best of all, offering quality accessories to people who will appreciate and look great in them!

Hi, friend! Thanks for visiting my little online shop. However you found me, I'm glad you're here, and I'm going to make sure you find that special something you're looking for.

Below is some important information you should know before purchasing your very own JennyHats item! It's not too much, I promise :) But please read through it, and if you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

Also, because most of my items are made to order, please remember to communicate clearly and include as much detail as possible in your original convos with me.

Accepted payment methods

Returns and exchanges
I gladly accept exchanges
Contact me within: 14 days of delivery
Ship items back within: 30 days of delivery
I don't accept returns or cancellations
But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
  • Items on sale
Returns and exchange details
At this time, I am unable to offer full refunds for products, as each item requires both financial and time investments. Please make sure you communicate your wishes clearly!

If the item does not arrive as you anticipated, I will replace the item ONE TIME ONLY at no additional cost to you (with the exception of return shipping), as long as a) you send the item back to me and b) you contact me prior to leaving a review.

My goal is to make sure the item you've paid for EXCEEDS your expectations. While I stand by my many five-star reviews, I understand that things happen (such is life!), and I will do my best to make it right.
I accept PayPal and direct checkout through Etsy.

Once purchased, I'll hold the item for you for up to three (3) days. If I don't receive payment within that time period, I will re-list the item (after trying to contact you, of course!)

If I somehow manage to lose contact with you and don't receive payment within a certain number of days (specified in the communication I will send you, but definitely ample time!), I will re-list the items for sale.

If I re-list an item that is then purchased by someone else, but you are still interested in it, I can then try to recreate the item to the best of my abilities. This can be limited to a yarn's availability, but I will do my best!

If I need to convo you for more information and don't receive feedback within three (3) days, but you have already paid for the item, then I will use my judgment to complete your order to ensure it arrives in the timeframe allotted; however, you then waive your right to exchange the item prior to leaving a review (see Refund Policy).
If you are buying an item in stock, it will be shipped to you within 1-2 business days. I will notify you by email when an item is shipped. I ship USPS First Class, which has some tracking capabilities. Please let me know ahead of time if you would like different shipping so I can accurately estimate your final cost.

Custom orders will ship within 1-2 weeks, depending on my order queue. Please note my busy season is the winter, at which time it may take me the full two weeks to fulfill your custom order.

For UK and other overseas purchases, yes, I DO ship to you! The appropriate USPS shipping rates are listed under each item. If your country isn't listed, just ask me and I'll find out :) Yes, shipping overseas is a bit more pricey, and I really wish it wasn't!

In the event of a lost package, not only will I be heartbroken, but there is not much I can do unless you request to purchase insurance other than file a missing parcel complaint.
