Originally I began as a studio artist, using painting and pencils to create my art. Later, after taking a photography class in college, I realized my passion for photography.

Now, I am most interested in portraiture. With my photography, I want to investigate new ways to present the portrait, reconsider who should be photographed, and how viewers see the portrait.

My most recent photo series, Cell (http://jeremynative.com/portfolio/artphotography/cell/), demonstrates my investigation of the contemporary portrait. Almost everyone is seen with a cell phone, thus I took strangers portraits while they interacted with their cell phone, and retouched the images as a professional would with a standard portrait or head shot.
