About

Enamored with Enamels

I don't wear much jewelry (more now than before, but still...) but my interest in making jewelry started when I discovered the joy of making miniature stained glass flowers. Some of those petals are smaller than the nail on my pinkie finger. By that time I was making quantities of lampwork beads, too. So I had all these original materials to work with... how could I NOT make jewelry? It was a natural decision. My pieces at that stage were pretty simple, though.

Several years ago I began to see jewelry different - they truly can be miniature works of art. I fussed and fidgeted and finally signed up for metalsmithing lessons in the summer of 2012. You can see some of the results in my Facebook page. I invest a lot of thought into how I want a piece to look, and then work backwards to design it. This is the direction I'll be taking my jewely.... unique glass and metal pieces; mixed media in the best sense of the word. You'll see more and more of my metal creations in my shop, although for the time being, my friends and family members are wearing most of them!

Owner, Maker, Designer, Glass Artist, Lampworker, Metalsmith

I was born in California and moved to Israel a long time ago. I've "made things" all my life and took my first steps as a professional artist when I was in my 40's, focusing on stained glass. I gradually evolved into lampworking and metalsmithing.

Welcome! I'm Cecilia Cohen, aka on Etsy as Glass & Light (www.glassandlight.etsy.com), Stringy Thingy (www.stringythingy.etsy.com), Jester Jewelry (jesterjewelry.etsy.com)& Custom Memories (www.custommemoriesisrael.etsy.com). My website, www.glassandlight.blogspot.com, serves as a gallery for past works, and a notice board about new work and tips for artists.

I'm a self-representing artist and art is the focus of my life - I'm either making it, teaching it, or writing about it pretty much all day long. Life is great!

I believe in FAIR PRICE - I try to keep my prices attractive to you, the buyer, and charge by Israeli scale (which is quite a bit cheaper than US prices). I believe in FAIR PLAY - I am as accurate in my descriptions as possible; when you read the item description, you really will know what you are getting.

Accepted payment methods

  • Other Method
Payment
I accept PayPal. I'll always provide a receipt. Israeli buyers - I'll absorb your VAT, and I'll adjust the price of the item to allow for that. This also applies to items purchased by buyers outside of Israel for destinations within Israel.

If you live in Israel, I'll accept your personal check (pay with "other"). If you live outside Israel, I can not accept a check of any kind from you, due to changes in my bank's policies.
Shipping
I normally ship to any country that has postal relations with Israel, using regular air mail. If you want Express shipping, it will probably cost more; I'll be happy to give you a quote.

Exchange rates and shipping rates change constantly here, so you'll find a wide variety of rates. If I find I've overcharged you for shipping, I'll refund the difference!
Refunds and Exchanges
No-Questions-Asked Refunds - It hasn't happened yet, but if you're not happy when you open your package, send the item back with the receipt and you'll get your money back. (I need the receipt returned for the Income Tax authorities). I want you to be VERY happy with your purchase.
Additional policies and FAQs
IMPORTANT: Due to Swiss import rules, I can not post any item with precious metal (including purc hased silver chains or a simple clasp) to Switzerland. Unfortunately, that's almost everything in this store. If you're in Switzerland, check out www.stringythingy.etsy.com to buy some of my beads to make your own necklace!

I’ll gift wrap for you but you must let me know before you pay because I tend to pack promptly, and if it's already packed, it's too late to add wrapping.

I recycle stuff like other people's packing materials, plastic bags, newspapers, old boxes, etc. My philosophy is more recycling = less garbage = a better world. Thanks for being part of it!
