Announcement   I have another ETSY shop: www.pollyclaydesigns.etsy.com
Please visit it to see what I'm up to with polymer clay!

If you saw something at a show that you regret not purchasing, either email me or send me an ETSY Conversation. If it is still available, I'll post it as reserved for you on ETSY, where you can purchase it and I'll mail it out promptly.

Je t'adorn on Etsy (Je t'adorn, pronounced zhe ta dorn) is about handmade jewelry that makes you feel beautiful and special when you wear it. Rich colors, striking gemstones, crystals, pearls, and precious metals like sterling silver and gold combine in captivating designs that you won't see anywhere else.

I am a member of the Canaveral Mineral & Gem Society, where I teach polymer clay classes.

I also actively use the following site for information about shows to apply to...check it out: www.ArtShowReviews.com - Reviews of the best art fairs and craft shows, by artists for artists.

About

Inspiration: Color and Nature

I've always been creating something, from homes for the frogs in the pond to apartments for my dolls. I experimented with pottery, basket weaving, fabric weaving and jewelry making, finding time to attend Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C., and finally graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University. I got distracted by a career in the computer industry, where I worked for 33 years.

Feeling the need to express my creative urges, I started making jewelry again. After taking classes and making jewelry for myself, my husband and daughter-in-law told me one day, "you could sell this", and so I did.

By now I had moved to Sebastian, FL, so I started selling through the Sebastian Craft Club monthly shows. Every show I learned something new about what I was creating and how to market it. I still participate in these shows, but have branched out to some of the larger shows in Florida such as Mt Dora, Cape Coral, Sanibel Island, and Melbourne. I also started my ETSY shop and am doing consignment at local shops.

I love making jewelry because it is a useful way to display my creativity. My techniques include various wire wrapping methods, weaving techniques such as Kumihimo and Viking Weave, bead woven items using needle and thread, some silversmithing, and my new love, polymer clay.

Polymer clay has everything...color, malleability, and a variety of applications. I'm starting to combine it with metal and wire with results that I love. Please visit my other shop, www.pollyclaydesigns.etsy.com.
