About

Jet Black Press is a collaborative effort between Lauren Lowery and Douglas Eberhardt and the many others who have contributed work to their zines. Their work highlights their passions and interests, from cycling, traveling, film photography, and illustration. It is at times very personal, speaking of memories, friendship, family, self discovery, quarter life crises, and addiction. At other times it is very playful, littered with fan art and puns.

Currently, Douglas is teaching screenprinting as an adjunct professor at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Lauren is mastering industrial embroidery machines at Clockwise Tees. They share an apartment together in Pittsburgh, caring endlessly for their cat, Branwen, and surrounded by their closest friends. They enjoy camping, listening to podcasts, playing music, riding bikes, and watching movies whenever they can.

I adore zines and I seek to empower others by giving them a platform to express themselves through the creation and sharing of zines and other works.

I enjoy fun, lighthearted and creative designs and am interested in the collectability of art objects. My designs are created for and meant to be appreciated by like-minded collectors.
